We were contacted the day of our arrival and informed how to pick up our keys to the room. When I booked, I did not realize there would be so many stairs to climb to the second story where the rooms where located. I have knee issues and found navigating the stairs difficult. Even though we were travelling with only small carry on suitcases, we only took what was required for an overnight stay in our backpacks.||I found our room to be on the small side with limited electrical outlets. My husband has a CPAP machine and we had to move the bed to be able to plug in his machine. An extension cord would have been helpful. Our rate only included the night stay, although a discount was offered if we ate breakfast at the ground floor cafe.||There was a small kitchenette on a landing at the foot of the stairs on the upper floor, with a communal fridge and small table.||Our sleep was comfortable. Overall, I found the experience of staying here very impersonal. We never met the proprietors and when we went to the cafe the next morning for breakfast, we stood by the door for some time without anyone acknowledging or welcoming us. I understood that they were busy, but a brief hello would have been sufficient. We departed seeking breakfast elsewhere. Overall, a very impersonal, not very...
Read moreDon’t stay on a Monday and make sure you leave on time. ||We are traveling by car through the region and stayed one night here. One would think the innkeeper would have told us that the attached cafe wasn’t open at the time of booking on the one day we are staying. If you look at the website it’s all about their Cocooning Cafe, skilled chef, brunch, lunch and dinner which we could not enjoy on arrival (we came at 7pm) or departure. ||When my husband went down to the cafe to get a table, he was asked how he got in. Then was told they are closed on Monday and to go to the donut shop instead. So odd.||The housekeeper came to our door and told us we were supposed to be out by 11am (at 11:15am) because she needed to clean and leave. Not friendly.||Was not a comfortable or pleasant stay with them and it wasn’t cheap. Disappointed and hungry. Had they been more friendly and informative, the discomfort of the bed and bright LED light above our heads would have been a non issue. Simply...
Read moreWe came to Bathurst for a wedding and my wife found this place online. Let’s just say it was great. The room spotless and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was super clean, always a bonus 🤗. I will admit due to the age of the house there is creaking and cracking and we did hear the shower from the other room, but we love heritage and we loved this place. Those are minor and easily overlooked from the delicious breakfast we ordered and the pastries we tried. The staff was very nice and even when we had a tiny hiccup with our bill, the owner herself came and spoke to me and corrected it immediately. Overall I easily give this place a 5🌠. With a little driving we found beautiful coastline beaches and if your very adventurous Miscou Island lighthouse is about 2 hrs East and is absolutely worth the drive. Thanks again for an amazing stay and we definitely will meet again. Sorry only one pic of our stay but the wedding had us wacky. Next time we stay we will take more pics of the...
