The name exudes confidence. Local. Amazing. Let’s go there. Except don’t. It’s a cozy little place, totally cute, but for me, looks were deceiving.

I started with the beer. That photo is the “can”. They don’t state what the pour is, but that has to be a Pepsi sized can with a bad pour and lots of head. Two of those. 15 bucks. Wow. Even Toronto pours aren’t this cheap. You should clarify what you’re dishing out.

We were here for about 1 1/2 hours. I ordered the Caesar to start. Our table ordered two Bison Wellingtons and a Pappardelle pasta.

40 minutes passed and the food rolled out. All at once.

This restaurant is afraid of salt. The Caesar Salad tasted heavily of mayonnaise (not sure how) and had no bite. Garlic? Naw. Salt? Naw. It was super one note. I ate half. It didn’t help that this massive salad came with the main. Cause that’s exactly what I meant when I said to start.

The Bison Wellington. S. A. L. T. The gravy has potential but again, no flavours. The Wellington was a 5/10. I’ve cooked full on Beef Wellingtons several times and I load the duxelles with flavour. There wasn’t any here. The gravy was bland, the meat didn’t have any flavour to it. My potatoes were cold. You can tell they cook these things ahead of time and dish them out when they’re needed. Not good. The best thing I ate the entire night were the vegetables on the plate with the random assortment of flowers that felt like they were there to take attention away from the lack of flavour.

My friend got the Pappardelle pasta. The base sauce was decent, full of garlic and butter, but the noodles were bland and lacked the overall flavouring of the dish. The vessel didn’t match the meal. Also 10 bucks for sirloin. TEN BUCKS. There was maaaaaybe 3 ounces. 5 small pieces, and I mean small. Not worth it.

Our experience was bad. Your experience may not match this but the service just wasn’t there for us in a packed restaurant. I wish them all the best and hope that our experience was a one off, but it was enough of a bad one to prohibit me from ever...

Going in I was very excited to try somewhere new and a farm to table experience. It was a very busy night but overall the service was lacking. Our drinks came quickly and were really yummy. After thirty minutes we noticed tables that arrived at the same time or after us already had food. Our waitress had yet to even stop by. At this point I said we need to get her attention when we hit the one hour mark post ordering our meal I finally got our waitress who seemed very confused when I asked about our appetizer. She came back shortly after saying she didn’t know what happened. I am assuming the order didn’t go in or was lost. Less then five minutes after our main came out and I said no we still haven’t gotten our appetizer we would like it first to which she said well the mains are ready so you are getting them now. I cancelled our appetizer the onion cheese dip which made me really sad as it was the main reason we were trying local the picture online looked amazing we sadly will never know as we will not be returning. The mains were delicious, seasoned well but not worth over an hour wait. We were in the restaurant for almost two hours and all we had was one drink each and mains which we took under 20 minutes to eat. Overall felt very ignored and almost a bother being there. Overall food and drinks good but the service made it a really negative experience left in a...

This is not the same as Loca. I had high hopes and was very disappointed. I understand they are still new and probably working out a few kinks. My friend ordered a cesear salad to start. The waitress clarified and asked is it to start? He confirmed. The salad came at the same time as the meal. There were three of us and two meals came out. It was a good almost 10 min before mine came out. When mine arrived it was missing the beef that was supposed to come with the dish. Our drinks took forever to arrive. A good 20 min plus! Also, the beer served was full of head. The bison wellington was over cooked. When they added the beef to my pasta they added maybe four pieces. Photos to show. This place unfortunately is not worth the hype! I didn't eat my meal and unfortunately had to send it back. I honestly usually post great reviews and honestly felt horrible I did not enjoy this experience. The manager came out and gifted us a gift card, I was almost in tears because I honestly hate leaving on a bad experience and appreciate that they are wanting us to come back and try again. I do really appreciate how much they wanted to make the experience better, we wil return in a few months and...

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant! We came to celebrate a friends birthday and I was blown away, I was glad to finally get the chance to try it out! Our drinks were phenomenal — I got the “Not Tonight” mocktail and it was next level, my friend got a spicy watermelon margarita and she said it was the right amount of spice and refreshing. For our appetizer we got the Dip Flight which included smoked baba ganoush, cowboy caviar and a creamy pesto & goat cheese dip — it was served with tortilla chips and warm pita. The cowboy caviar was both mine and my friends favourite, it was light and refreshing but all three dip options were divine. The real show stopper for the meal was our entrée — we both chose the “Fire Kissed Fusilli” and holy.. it was to die for. The brisket was so soft it was melting in your mouth and was a perfect addition to the savoury pasta. I was very glad with my choice in entrée. On top of every part of our meal being delicious our server was also lovely, checking on us often to make sure we were satisfied and the establishment itself was private and had a good feel to it. I will be returning, thank you for a lovely evening.
