Reply to restaurant: the server never once came back to confirm it was vegan butter, she said she was going to check with the kitchen and never came back. As someone with an allergy I do not take risks when the server wants to neglect the table. I gave the bread to someone else. My "friend" never said such comments, and your threats of having video will show this. Your excuse for running out of products negates the fact your server never once informed us at the time of ordering or even after putting in the order to see if we wanted something else. As mentioned before the server only offered substitution after we complained, and even then she was rude and uncaring that she failed in her job to let us know items were not available. She only offered substitutions after giving us several rude remakes, she might as well have said "I don't care". In the future I suggest you take more responsibility for your establishment instead of letting teenagers run it to ruins with horrible customer service. Update: even more zero stars, we actually tried the place with a reservation. They had no yam fries or regular fries, AND didn't tell anyone until we complained about the frozen tater tots they substituted it with. They were rude about it. I have a dairy allergy and they gave me toast with who knows what on it. They never came back to confirm the dairy free of my meal so hopefully I don't get sick. My friends blackened chicken looked like boot leather, it was so thin and not proper. Another friend got a house salad and it had meat in it, when it shouldn't have. We had a reservation for 10 and they put us at a 6 person high top. And so many more problems. Just stay away. A year ago: I called in advance for a reservation and they said it would be fine. I show up with my group and I'm turned away. All the staff were absolutely rude about it too.

We were supposed to have a great night — unfortunately, it was ruined. I came to this restaurant tonight with my friends, hoping to enjoy a calm and pleasant evening together. When we arrived, we waited about 15 minutes for someone to come and take our order. That was completely understandable, as the restaurant was busy. However, when the waiter finally came, one of my friends placed their order, and the rest of us asked a question about the burgers. The waiter said he would bring us a separate menu for the burgers — and then left, but didn’t return for another 20 minutes. When he finally came back, he brought the food for the one person who ordered, even though the rest of us hadn’t placed any orders yet. Out of courtesy, my friend didn’t touch their food while the rest of us waited another 10 to 15 minutes just for someone to take our orders. It’s honestly ridiculous that we had to wait almost 50 minutes just to place our order, especially when the restaurant wasn’t even as busy as on previous visits. We also don’t understand why the waiter walked past our table multiple times and ignored our attempts to get his attention — we even waved several times. Then, we waited nearly another 20 minutes for our food, and by the time it finally arrived, the first meal that had been served was completely cold. I don’t know if this was discrimination or simply poor service, but as someone who has worked in busy and well-known restaurants during my student years, I can confidently say this behavior is unacceptable. I sincerely hope that the management of this restaurant sees this message — because tonight, they lost four regular customers. I will also be sharing this experience with all of my friends.

A great venue that feels like what a “public house” from the past should be. Table games, pool, darts, cozy corners, quiet areas, louder areas; it’s huge. The service was friendly but we were tucked away in an awkward corner so it was hard to catch a glimpse of the server. Cat is known for their cheap wings. $6 for 10 juicy and plump wings during happy hour and $5 for 10 on Wednesdays (have to get a drink with it though). The best wings deal in town, hands down. However, the other food seems to be lacking in… cohesiveness. Many may argue that there is no greater sacred paring than that between the party and the bun. And yet the bun on the smash burger seems to be an afterthought. The honey mustard sauce for the wings also felt… rushed. My Cat’s Club chicken breast came out cool to the touch. I removed the middle slice of bread (because I forgot to ask for a 2-slice club) and noticed it was grilled but possibly stored and heated after the fact. On the other hand one might say a clubhouse SHOULD be served cold. I thought it tasted fine but the fries had an off flavor. Can’t describe it. I definitely think the wings are worth coming again for, and for large groups looking for a good space to wind down. Tons of parking but the entrance is not well marked, especially at night and if you follow Google’s directions. Just follow the smell and you’ll be alright.

We were a group of 10 but got seated at tables for 6. While the place was mostly empty. The wait time for food was also pretty long all things considered.

I ordered the Sadness and Disappointment, sorry, I mean blackened chicken dinner.

The chicken breast was tiny and it was not blackened chicken. It was just a breast with some generic seasoning powdered on. The veggies were bland, frozen vegetables. Mashed potatoes and garlic bread were pretty decent but nothing special. I had ordered a side of sweet potato fries with gravy. They never bothered to mention they were out of the fries until I asked where it was when food got delivered. The gravy that I did get was gravy you can get in an envelope, add a cup of water and done.

No one else received fries, they got tater tots instead. No one was told ahead of time. When we brought these concerns up, the waitress just looked at us and asked what we wanted instead, with an annoyed look and tone. I didn't want to wait even longer so I didn't order a replacement.

When it came time for bills, the pile was dropped on the table and she just walked away.

Food was bad. Service was worse. I would not recommend this place to anyone. We usually have dessert after but we just skipped and went to dairy Queen instead. At least we know what to expect and sadness and disappointment isn't it.

Edit March 26

I am unable to reply to the response from the restaurant, but it would seem you have us mixed with a different group as I reached out to at least half of those who were in attendance and they are unable to recall any of the accusations made in the reply. No obscene language or any yo mama jokes were made and we certainly did not use obscene language.

If you had made a reservation for a larger group and got seated at a table that seats less when the place is completely empty, made to wait a long time to not receive what you ordered and get zero answers from staff, I am sure you would be upset as well. You still weren't even able to provide a reason in your reply.

We were upset with the poor communication from the staff but the worst that was said was probably the person across the table from me asking one of the server if the chef had an aneurysm for calling the chicken I got blackened chicken. And I assure you he has been spoken to and that will not happen again.

In another reply to a review, you claim to have cameras with proof of our behavior as well as accuse me of things I never said or did. As no one in our group recalls any of the things you claim happen, I respectfully request to review this footage. If the claims you have made towards our group are true and all of us forgot everything that happened, as the group organiser, I will take responsibility for my groups' behavior and provide a proper apology. I will call later this week to speak with a manager and make some time to come in to review the footage in person. If you cannot provide any evidence that those events happened and make false statements about someone's character, that's called defamation. Might want to review what you wrote and make sure you can back...

I love going with my family to eat and enjoy an evening at the restaurant, but lately I have had a server, (an older woman with glasses), who has served us very, very poorly. I don't know if it's something personal but we noticed that with other people she is friendlier and even she goes and asks if they need something , the times she has served us we barely see her, and she is discourteous when delivering things, she is not kind . Honestly, our experience changes when she serves us, the first time she served us, she brought us some teriyaki wings when I asked for honey garlic, we let him know that they were not honey garlic, they were teriyaki, my daughter has autism and it is the only thing she eats in the bar, so we know them perfectly, apart from the fact that I also work at restaurants too and I perfectly recognize both the aroma and the flavor, I asked her if I could change them and she told me that they were honey garlic, I told her, no, try them, they were dark and they totally smelled like teriyaki, they are not, just told me that they were, she just said that restaurant changed the honey garlic sauce, which was no longer the same, and I was like 😧 what??? How can you tell me that? We left because my daughter was not going to eat them and as I mentioned before, that is the only thing she accepts, the next time we went we were served by who usually served us, great service by the way! she is a young blonde girl with glasses, we asked her for honey garlic to find out if they would give us the same ones or the server simply didn't want to help us, in fact the sauce had not been changed, it was the same as always! how terrible! This last time she served us again very badly and for the first time in my life , I didn't leave a tip in a place! She went back and ask my husband why he hadn't tipped her, my husband was honest with her and just said “oh okay” that was it! It's very sad that for a person your experience change and makes you to don’t want to go again to a place that we enjoyed so much... one time we had just one bad experience with another waitress that we didn't know, we asked for a high chair with tray, which the people in front was using it just left and she said “I'm so sorry, another table ask for it ” when I was looking at her and she just looked at it and saw that it was very dirty, she never interact with anyone, but she just didn't want to clean it up right away for us ... fortunately another kind guy, help us with the high chair, that of course no one asks for it… I hope you can let your staff know that there have been people going there for years and it's very sad that everyone who works for you doesn't give you the same. service. And as a last comment, soft drinks are getting worse and worse!! What's happening to your beverage fountain? They all have a very strange taste, many colleagues told me the same thing, that they no longer go for that same reason! I hope that you guys can soon give it proper maintenance so people that not drink beer like me we can drink quality soft...

I need to express my deep frustration about what happened at Cat & Fiddle in Port Coquitlam. The evening was a complete disaster, and I want to share my experience with you. I was there with my friends, excited for a fun time enjoying some wings and beer. However, things took a turn for the worse as soon as we walked in. The place was a mess, with empty tables covered in dirt and leftovers. It was shocking to see such neglect. Even more shocking was the attitude of the staff, who seemed to care very little about the state of the place or the customers. Finding a clean table was a challenge, and we had to wave and gesture desperately to get the attention of the servers. After what felt like forever, a blonde server finally came over and dropped menus on our table without a word. Her lack of interest in us was apparent from the start. When she eventually returned to take our drink order, her lackadaisical attitude was infuriating. She disappeared again for a long time, leaving us thirsty and annoyed. When she finally reappeared, we were eager to order our food, but she didn't seem to care much about that either. While we were struggling to get any kind of attention, a family that came in after us got their food quickly. The whole place was a mess, with dirty tables and dishes everywhere. Even a famous singer at a nearby table wasn't immune to the neglect. After an agonizing wait, the server came back. We tried to order food, but she dropped the bombshell that they weren't serving anymore, even though it wasn't closing time yet. This was the last straw. She hurried us to pay, right after bringing our drinks, showing a complete lack of consideration. Let's talk about the money we intended to spend. We were prepared to spend around $250 that night. If Cat & Fiddle continues to treat customers like this and loses two of us per day, that's a whopping $15,000 gone from their monthly income. It's not just about the money, though. This kind of treatment tarnishes the reputation of the restaurant, drives customers away, and damages their income. I can't stress enough how terrible this experience was. The management needs to understand the severity of this situation and take immediate action. I'm beyond disappointed and I expect them to treat this as a serious matter. The way customers are treated can make or break a business, and it's high time they...
