2023 Review I recently dined at The Noodle Guy and unfortunately, I must say that my experience left much to be desired. I ordered the tagliatelle with basil and sausage, and I was disappointed right from the start. The noodles were excessively thick and seemed to be falling apart, which greatly affected the overall texture of the dish. Additionally, the sausage lacked any searing and tasted as though it had been boiled rather than cooked with care.
Moving on to the service, I encountered some notable shortcomings. While seated at my table, I had to rely on another server to inform me about the specials, as my own server failed to mention them. Furthermore, when I inquired about non-alcoholic beer options, the server seemed unsure and lacked knowledge of the available choices. To top it off, when I requested to take my broth home, I was presented with a coffee cup instead of a suitable container.
Another dish I tried was the Ramen with chicken, and unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. The broth lacked the depth of flavor that one would expect from a good bowl of ramen, leaving me wanting more.
One aspect that disappointed me was the lack of variety in the menu. Despite being a regular customer for over a year, I noticed that the menu remained stagnant and unchanged. It seems like a missed opportunity for The Noodle Guy to explore new flavors and keep their offerings exciting, especially considering that noodles can be incredibly versatile. Furthermore, the absence of spicy dishes and craft beer options added to my disappointment.
In conclusion, I regret to say that The Noodle Guy has been on a downward trajectory. The thick and crumbling noodles, lackluster sausage, mediocre service, and unremarkable ramen broth all contributed to a disappointing dining experience. I hope The Noodle Guy can address these issues and regain the charm and quality it once possessed.

Read moreTried here for lunch on a sunny Friday in January and glad I did. There are a couple of parking spaces out front, which we got right outside the door, so didn't take notice of there was a lot in the back or anything. When you enter, there are a couple of wooden tables in the middle of the space, with seating for 6 each? To your left, there are smaller tables/bench space for 2 or 4, a few window seats, and one small, more private booth in the back. Casual rustic atmosphere with lots of natural lighting coming in. Large chalkboard menu, with laminated printed menus at the tables as well. Very friendly staff, especially from our purple-haired female server! Re the food: I wanted to try two of the small dishes, to experience two vs one menu item, but ended up picking the daily Ravioli special ($11) which was very good. Five homemade raviolis stuffed with quark cheese, topped with maple caramelized onion, which gave the dish a sweetness to offset the richness that ravioli normally brings. I was full before I finished it, and hadn't eaten all of the bread that came with it. (An orange colored, fresh, thick, almost focaccia...not sure if it was squash based or what, but tons of flavor in the seasoning). My friend ordered their spaghetti (with roasted red pepper, tomato and meat sauce. $11) but requested it with tagliatelle noodles instead, which was no problem. He was definitely satisfied with the flavor and portion size. Most of all, if you compare here to a "finer" Italian restaurant in Halifax, the food is just as good, but the price is less. I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu, including their Asian dishes, etc. FYI: small, but decent selection of alcohol. My glass of Avondale Sky Tidal Bay hit the spot. His stout (that I forget the name)...
Read moreIt was my first time ordering from the noodle guy at his shop in Port Williams. He has been at a few festivals in Halifax which is how I heard of them. I wasn’t sure how the to-go fridge worked… did you have to pre order? Do you just walk in? What is in the fridge? Sarah messaged me back on Instagram helping me navigate that portion. When I went in, it was so cozy, so nice, and the fridge was full of fresh pasta and sauce. We ended up getting the sundried tomato, coconut, Jalapeno milk sauce with ravioli and the roasted red pepper and tomato sauce with spaghetti noodles. This plus the carrot cake (enough for 4 ppl) was $30.. so the price was shockingly impressive. We stopped at the store and grabbed hamburger to add more protein. This is also where I met Sarah in person. Sarah is the type of person who thrives in customer service. You can tell her vibes, her charm, her personality is meant to be around people. She just brightened my day and we had a huge laugh over me thinking everything in the fridge was expired (it was actually made that day not expired that day - I felt so stupid. 10/10 service, 10/10 food. I can not recommend them enough. Also there is room to eat inside :) I just wanted take out to bring back...
