What an awful and embarrassing experience. We traveled from Ottawa to enjoy an evening in beautiful Quebec City. We were looking for a nice place to have a bite to eat and some drinks. When arriving the hostess told us it was 2$ cover charge but it was actually coat check and then charged us 80$ to enter. Once realizing the situation (we should have earlier I know) we asked to speak to a manager to discuss the situation because it was a simple miscommunication. They stood there talking to eachother and after several minutes of standing there he walked up and said right away "are you English" we said yes he said "so what do you want to do" when we began to peacefully explain the situation he said I was crazy and being rude and then literally ran away saying "this is the night life".He also continued to say to my male friend that "his woman(aka me) is out of control". I truly felt discriminated against as a female. In all my years I have never been referred to as someone's women. I I have worked way to hard in life to be referred to as someone's property. I have never experienced such discrimination and unprofessional behaviour in my entire life. I am sincerely embarrassed and I will make sure each friend from Ontario will know that this establishment clearly has an issue with either tourists from Ontario, English speaking citizens or educated women with actual opinions. This establishment has clearly shown a blaitant act of discrimination and sexism. I will ensure to bring this further and reach out to local media. Absolutely...
Read moreI had dinner here last weekend, but decided to leave after my salmon salad, which I enjoyed and a couple of glasses of Ripasso Valplicello. What I didn’t enjoy was seeing my boyfriend’s friend continue to order up excessive amounts of alcohol while seated at the bar. By the end of the night, six bottles of Ripasso and excessive shots of hard liquor were served to two people totaling over $800! I know from being a certified bartender myself as well as being SmartServe certified since 2009 that exorbitant amounts of alcohol should never be continuously served to any person to the point of intoxication. When my boyfriend got up he fell hard onto something that cut his forehead badly. No one was paying attention, so we don’t know what he actually fell on, but an ambulance had to be called and he was taken to hospital with a serious head injury! He spent the entire night in the hospital and Sunday morning, the doctor told him that he is lucky to be alive. The doctor said 80% of people that he has seen injured in this way do not survive the blunt trauma to the head. You can imagine the shock when I saw him arrive home with stitches between his eyes and clearly in a state of trauma and confusion. His friend should not have continued to order the alcohol, however, Service of alcohol comes with a duty of care and responsibility and not just a way...
Read moreI would like to apologize for my tardiness in writing this review. It's been a month or two already, but I promised the waitress that I'd write one. This particular location is pretty cool. I love the decor and ambiance. That's always a plus for the eyes. Then we have Service....probable the best I have had in a very long time and it's very difficult for me to even say that since my expectations are very high in accordance to the establishment genre. LOUISE B. Was FANTASTIC. My family teaches service in hotels and restaurants and this was textbook perfection. Food wise it's was amazing as well. I mean mind blowing Sh*t for a none fine dining restaurant. Perfectly cooked, presentation, colour combination, portion. I haven't seen or spoken to the management but they seem to be doing very well and train their staff well. I even noticed the busboys picking up empty glasses and plates on the way back from delivering plates to tables. Higher end restaurants do this (should be standard but isn't). Go there and try it out. You won't be...
