Casa Grecque — Restaurant in Quebec

There is very little of anything "Greek" in this restaurant, not even of it's food. As it is most probably owned by someone from the Middle East like the growing majority of the so-called "Greek" restaurants which isn't bad by itself, this particular place doesn't offer any authentic Greek food. I went with my Greek friend who invited me for dinner as we stayed in the city for a couple of days. We ordered the same dishes like Greek salad and pork souvlaki . My friend was very disappointed, especially with souvlakis taste and the quality of meat. She found that even the colour of meat wasn't right. It was reddish and it didn't taste like a proper souvlaki should. Also, the meat was obviously not freshly barbequed but warmed up, too soft and not even hot... Small pieces of meat. Greek salad was just okay, small portion. As the food wasn't good enough, the service was even worse. After my friend received the bill, she gave cash plus several dollars as a tip which waitress refused. The waitress started arguing that service charge want included in the bill and that my friend is obliged to add at least 15% as a tip and pay with a credit card. My friend didn't want to spoil our dinner and argue and followed up with the waitress outrageous demands... The waitress is a tall strong built woman in her 40s with long blond hair, unfriendly and demanding. I would suggest to avoid this restaurant. It is not...

First the good points. The food quality was good. Although I think it was just good for the price. You can find much better greek restaurants in the city. In this restaurant, only the promotions are tempting. The atmosphere is nice and it is a good place for groups. BUT, the service was awful. We were there on Sunday noon. It wasn't that crowded but there was only two waiters to serve all the tables and it took us at least 30 minutes to order each course. It was even more awful at the dessert course. The coffee was served then 30 minutes later we had our cakes and we ate them with cold coffee. The cutlery and dishes...

The service was good, nothing to complain about. The food was just OK, in my opinion. I had the steak and shrimp. The steak was not a steak but pieces of beef and hard even if cooked medium (and I asked for medium rare). Rice could have more and better flavour, and the shrimps were good.

By the end of it, I enjoyed the fact that it is bring your own alcool, this is a plus which helps aleviate the high price of alcool sold in restaurant. I think my food could have been better, but it was average. And finally, it was priced fairly. Meaning that I did not overpaid for what I had.
