Mainstay in the Québec City region, Normandin is a family-style restaurant specialized in traditional Québecois dinner table fare. They have a very honest mid-range price point, which might tend to be higher on some items that would regardless be expected to be more expensive (like during lobster season, in which they always run a lobster-heavy special menu).
There's nothing fancy or complicated about the Normandin menu (bar a few experimental pieces). What they do, however, they do fantastically well. For Québec natives, it's the equivalent of a safe, comforting place to enjoy a meal that's served and presented without any kind of pretention.
They are quite famous for their spaghetti sauce, which is indeed absolutely amazing. Also of note are their pizzas, generous and tasty.
They do all-day full breakfasts and to my knowledge, they are the ONLY chain in the province who does so. It is not uncommon to see pizza-pasta combo plates along brunch plates on the tables.
Some, if not most locations, also have a section called the "N Bar", a sports-leaning bar which, if memory serves, has a slightly different menu thar focuses on bar grub. Equally simple food, equally tasty.

La serveuse ( Barbara sans vouloir la mentionnĂ© ) nous dit se sera pas long j ai des gens Ă servir jusqu'au moment oĂč on l entend dire un arriĂšre- il y a beaucoup de monde en avant - Une jeune demoiselle trĂšs gentille nous assigne une place et je lui mentionne que sa urge que j aille de l eau vu ma situation mais sans ĂȘtre polissonne ( je sort de l hĂŽpital pour une colonoscopie) TrĂšs gentille elle nous amĂšne de l eau et chacun un bon cafĂ©. Mme que j ai nommĂ© plus haut de me devisager et de me dire - se sera pas long - Donc fini par prendre notre commande mais trĂšs pressĂ© me laisse pas le temps de terminer qu elle demande Ă mon conjoint se qu il prend ouf . Nous apporte nos repas Oeufs tiĂšde, patate tiĂšde vieil , fĂšves aux lard froide , toasts frette , oubli mon pĂątĂ© Ă la viande... Je redemande des patates ouf la face que j ai eu . J ai demandĂ© Ă mon conjoint le ketchup sur l autre table car je n osait pas lui demander. J ai demandĂ© une autre toast ( en passant il restait 3 tables ) sa pris exactement 4 minutes pour une toast tiĂšde.
Je sais pas si c est le manque de personnel ou cette dame est Ă boutte mais ...
Fesant moi mĂȘme partie de la grande famille Normandin sa me déçois.
Bref j ai tout de mĂȘme laissĂ© 15 % mais sa m Ă fait mal au coeur

   Read moreThis restaurant in particular is horrible!! I place an order in the morning of new year eve to get ready for new year at 5:30 pm. I went to the restaurant to pick up the order and they made me wait for almost an hour. The worse things is that I didn't know the food would be frozen đ€ŠđŸââïžđ€ŠđŸââïž how can you serve frozen food and even without noticing clients that visit the website to place their order . I was left stuck with done frozen and weird goods unrecognizable.
