Family of 4, ordered 3 subs, 1 spring roll (3 rolls), and medium fries. Subs were delicious, quality fresh grilled chicken and plenty of turnips. Spring rolls were great and the fries must have been the Costco variety or something similar because I love it more than the typical kinds you get at restaurants. We spent about $32, super affordable now that most places cost around $15 per person to eat until full.

It is a bit of an awkward place to get to, been living in Steveston nearly my whole life and have always thought the harbour was a purely industrial/business kind of place. There are signs outside the gates, so just walk straight in then turn left then you’ll see it on the right hand side. (First door on left hand side when you get into the hallway.)

I see the effort put into the website and great photos posted here and really hope to support this place from now on! 100% agree with other reviews saying this is a hidden gem, will be back to try...

We've always been curious to try this unique looking cafe with the blue awnings tucked away at the end of Trites Road.

Happy to say, the Vietnamese subs - both pork and chicken - were really good! The salad rolls were fresh and delicious, while the Vietnamese ice coffees were tasty and hit the spot.

Though they offer "western" fare as well, the home style Vietnamese dishes here, especially the phos and subs, seem like the real stars of their menu.

The staff was very friendly and eager to serve us on the quiet Saturday afternoon we visited. The place itself has a no nonsense old school vibe with their pictures and ornaments of Vietnam on the wall along with vintage fishing signs, diner booths and tables.

Overall, my wife and I enjoyed eating at this charming family owned cafe full of character. We will definitely come back again to either dine in or take out for their delicious Vietnamese subs and home style dishes. What a cool find in the heart of...

The Riverside Cafe! Hidden away inside the Steveston Harbour, is this family-run Vietnamese / American restaurant.

Another hole in the wall! Food was good, but nothing to rave too much about. It is COLD inside so you might want to keep your jacket on for your meal!

  1. Lemongrass Chicken on Rice with a Spring Roll Overall it was a tasty dish, but I prefer ones from Pho 37, Thai Son, Com, Bonjour Vietnam, etc. Despite being quite a bit cheaper than those other places, it does have less meat than the others. Spring roll was decent! 4/5

  2. Pho Pho was standard, nothing to rave about. Meat was a bit too lean and tough. Broth was good and flavourful. 3.5/5

This cafe is situated right inside the Steveston Harbour, so feeding the cold fishermen with a nice home-style meal is perfect. Would I come back? Yes! But don't expect...
