I recently decided to revisit a restaurant in Rimouski that was one of my favorites 15 years ago. Known back then for their amazing wings, I was excited to introduce my husband, who is new to the area, to what I had hoped would be a memorable dining experience. Unfortunately, it was anything but.
First, the wings we ordered were exceptionally small, almost as if they were portioned for children. To make matters worse, the flavor options were incredibly limited, with only three choices available. Compared to the vibrant and diverse menu I remembered, this was a letdown.
The portion size was another issue. We ordered a plate of 16 wings along with a side of poutine/fries and a drink each. Even at a price of $90, we left the restaurant still feeling hungry. The 16 tiny wings and the sides simply weren't enough to satisfy us.
Considering the cost, the limited wing flavors, and the portion sizes, I was extremely disappointed with this dining experience. I had hoped to relive some nostalgic memories and instead left with a sense of regret. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant based on my recent visit. What once was an amazing spot has sadly...
Read moreTook a drive along the Gaspesie with my nephew and niece to get outside our local area as a day trip, stopped to find Le Cage the only open sit down restaurant we could find that allowed us to stop, sit and eat. It was a great experience, waitress and waiters were patient with us, spoke both languages, waited on the two kids who had no idea what to eat and in the end we had a buffet at the table. Not once did we feel rushed or out of place. The other customers were staggered to avoid being close to one another, all the safety material were available and I my heart goes out to the workers who have to wear those masks. I gave them 5 stars because of all of that! FYI we had way to much food but the kids didn't care. It wasn't our cooking. Thanks to the team there for making it feel somewhat normal...

Server was quite disgusted that I spoke English. A one point when trying to say thank you in French, a comment was made by the server to which she, another staff member and other patrons laughed at me. Did not check in once I had my food and was ignored until I asked for my bill.
I understand the language barrier is difficult but it is for both parties.
I would have liked to have spent more time and money as I had time to kill however it was...
