Airliner Drive In — Restaurant in Rural Municipality of Brokenhead

The inside of this place is really cool! The food is decent, I liked their jalapeño poppers. One night I went there for perogie soup, no where on the menu did it say that they turn off the soup after a certain time. Once I got there they said they didn’t have any, after driving a half hour I was a little annoyed. I tried looking for something else but the girl kept asking me over and over if I was ready when I wasn’t even taking a long time to choose, she was clearly impatient. The guy cooking the food even seemed annoyed that I was there (this was 30 minutes before closing, I made sure to give them time to cook and be done by closing) no where does it say they finish cooking at a certain time. I felt extremely uncomfortable ordering there so I just quickly said jalapeño poppers so they would stop pressuring me. Both people there that night were being really annoying all because they wanted to go home early. Definitely not professional at all. Maybe serve your customers with respect instead of making them uncomfortable. It’s pretty obvious when someone is still deciding. Especially since I was clearly discussing the menu with my boyfriend and she would interrupt me to ask “are you ready now?” Like can your waitresses really not wait 2/3 minutes for someone to order? Its 7pm the open sign is off but there open my husband and I go in we got ignored then went around to the restaurant and got attitude. We are out of everything and it an hours wait you could tell that they weren't having a good day. The owner who stated he was the owner had a irritated tone who shouldn't deal with people. I addressed that I wasn't going to come back he told me good he doesn't want us to come. Terrible owner and was hard to believe that this guys is part of our community cause as an owner you should be able to except angry customers and as we were leaving the owner threatened me a 37 year old woman get out of the truck discusting. And embarrassing for the gentleman that recommended for us to go there. We just finished helping this stranger that's moving pick everything up on the highway that fell off the truck then drove this stranger's stuff to his house he gave us money in insisted dinner be on him and to go to the airliner inn horrible decision. We had a very disappointing experience here. Our group of 12 was turned away 1.5 hours before closing, even though we called 30 minutes ahead to confirm it would be okay and clearly mentioned our group size. This is a drive-in, and we weren’t asking for a reservation—just to order food.

When we arrived around 6:30 PM (they close at 8 PM), the cook shouted from the back, “How big is your group? Because we close at 8!”—very rude and dismissive. Despite having plenty of time before closing, we were flat-out turned away, not because of space, but just because they didn’t want to serve us. He then told us we should have called ahead—which we did!

The woman at the front was polite and apologetic, but the cook’s attitude ruined the experience. It’s hard to understand how a place that’s open for business can’t manage to serve a group within 90 minutes. Definitely won’t...
