Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Rural Municipality of East St. Paul

The service here was absolutely terrible. There must of been 5-6 people working and we were the only ones in the building at the time minus a skip the dishes guy. We ordered 3 small blizzards (mint Oreo, cappuccino skor and cookie dough) and a small strawberry sundae with peanuts. We received the strawberry sundae right away but didn’t get the blizzards. 10-15 minutes passed the sundae was gone and the blizzards were still not given to us. I went to the counter and the employees didn’t know what was going on. I asked them where our blizzards were as we have been waiting for awhile… they had no idea and started looking around. They then proceeded to take the blizzards from the drive thru area and the tray going out to the car waiting in the drive thru. Which fine they may have had some miscommunication in the back amongst them all no big deal we received what we ordered or so we thought. The cappuccino skor we thought we had was only a skor blizzard…two people tried it to verify that the cappuccino part was indeed missing. So I went to the front counter with the incorrect blizzard and receipt. None of the employees were in the front so I rang the bell..it still took 3 minutes for someone to come up front. I let the employee know that the blizzard was made incorrectly. Instead of taking the blizzard and making a new one..she went to the other employee asked if she made the blizzard and put the cappuccino syrup in..in which that employee said they did. I assume it was the manager I was dealing with as she was in a different colored top came back with the same blizzard and said that her employee told them that the cappuccino flavouring was inside the blizzard. I told them that two people could not taste it and we would like it remade…instead of tossing out the blizzard that we tasted and make a new one…they took the one we returned back into the back of the kitchen..put some syrup in it and remixed it in their machine… I did inform them that was unsanitary and they shouldn’t be doing that. The manager did tell me that they were going to sanitize the machine right after but still who takes food back that crossed the counter and had a bite taken out of it. In all my time working in fast food..you just throw out the one that was made incorrectly and...

I would rate my experience zero stars if I could. I ordered one small Blizzard and one Dilly Bar this evening. I had just finished wondering why the car in front of me was taking so long. They were only passed one Blizzard. So I was next. I waited in the drive trough while observing 4 employees laughing and playing with the store phone. I started to get annoyed and honked my horn. The store had no other customers. About 8 min passed when finally an employee noticed me. They asked what my order was. I said what it was and asked why there were 5 employees and not one serving me. Another employee took over and explained he didn’t know who was working drive through and that “they” were in the back with another employee. I was told the employee that finally passed me my blizzard was busy taking out the garbage. I left very irritated and confused. I’m not sure who was working the drive through and why out of the 5 employees horsing around inside not one was serving me. I never complain. But I really wanted a blizzard and I’m hoping I can go back to one of the only local Dairy Queens in my neighbourhood. Please save the playtime for when no one is waiting. Better yet, for when you aren’t being paid to serve customers. My Very Cherry Chip Blizzard was a milkshake. Over blended with no chunks and melting from sitting there for so long. Great location, beautiful store....

I drove through around 2pm on a Wednesday. I ordered the bacon cheese burger and it was fresh, hot and delicious. Great job. Friendly service too. Unfortunately I have to edit my review. Sunday 5:30 brutal ! Long wait in drive thru. Person repeated order back wrong. Tried to hand me wrong drinks. Switched one out. Drink carriers are too flimsy for drinks , spill everytime ! Girl come to window to hand me my order tries to give me back wrong drinks. I get home and my backyard burger is so saucy bun is wet onion rings are soggy. Yuck. My fries were over salted my hubbys had no salt. Paid full price for 3 mediocre not hot combos. Might be a while . Sunday crew needs some coaching...
