They’ve shown the utmost respect for customers through the sign saying ‘Please Don’t Hesitate to Ask Us to Mask Up’. In my firm opinion, restaurant staff should be required to wear masks as they are dealing directly with food... one of the most intimate interactions we experience in a public space. It is respectful to approach customers one is unfamiliar with wearing a mask, unless the customer says otherwise. I’m disappointed in most places for this reason. But, Nick’s Inn is well above other places in this regard! Thank you so very much for this, showing respect for guests!
Very impressed overall. The food was good, staff quick and friendly, environment enjoyable, and portioning great. Definitely want to return.
The prices are a bit high; around $10 for a cheeseburger, without a side... expensive.
The dessert menu looked excellent and all of the options were for a good price! I’ll have to try in the future!
I would have rated 4/5 due to their pricing, but I’m very impressed with their respect for customers by the ‘masking up’ sign. Much appreciation for you, Nick’s Inn!
P.S. - why are kitchen staff required to wear hairnets to ‘protect us’ from an oh so unsafe little hair in our food, but NOT required to wear of a mask while they’re preparing our food and breathing biological hazardness all over it...? Just another backwards way our...
Read moreI was a child the last time I tried Nick’s Inn, while making family trips from Western Manitoba to Winnipeg. This time, countless years later, I was getting a hitch installed at Bell’s next-door so I popped by for lunch while I waited.
This place has a nice classic diner vibe. What I found quite unique was the amount of people coming in that staff welcomed on a first name basis. Seems a lot of regulars frequent here, which is a familiarity in a restaurant I haven’t seen in ages or outside of small town rural joints. There’s even a solo table for the the workers who are literally in for a quick bite during a lunch break.
Within the context of an old school burger/diner joint - the food is exactly how you’d want and expect. Large portions, a little heavy, but very filling and very good value.
Staff all had good personality and were friendly, albeit seemed a bit eager to clear plates that still had food, to perhaps move the meal along. Plenty of empty booths so I don’t know what the hurry was. Shift change maybe, or maybe the joint just moves at a fast pace.
Cool place, nothing fancy but full of character. Worth a stop if you’re in the mood for some diner food. There’s also a patio and outdoor seating. I think I’ll be back someday to try some of...
Read moreThis week is poutine week. A few years ago your restaurant came up with the crispy greek poutine and ever since it has been a staple in our family. We order at least once a month and usually one if not four of us get this as our meal. Depending on how hungry we are there is usually enough leftover for lunch. Let me get to my point..... At my work today we all decided to order from a participating restaurant and I ordered the chicken gyro poutine. Now for $25.00 I was not impressed. All the cheese was melted in a lump the gravy was very thin and lacked in any "gryo" flavour! So if you were participating this year you would still be my top vote. Your poutine is hands down the BEST 👌 FLAVOUR PORTION AND PRICE . If anyone hasn't tried it yet ...... what are you waiting for?? If you go to try it make sure you skip lunch or bring a friend to share! Keep up the great job Nick's and we will keep...
