Auto Carro No 38
Portugal.

Nice place in a quaint section of Quebec. Friendly and attentive service and zero complaints there. Very popular spot and heard good things about this place. My issue is with my meal which to me missed the mark. I had the squash ravioli. The plate itself looked beautiful but Unfortunately the taste and the combination was not very good in my opinion. The problem is that the pasta is sitting under a salad type with oily and strong flavour type of vinaigrette which seeps down to the pasta rendering kind of cold and masking the flavor of the pasta. To me the salad should be off to the side. Pasta should be rich and buttery and maybe with a hint of cheese or something like that. Oily and vinegary is not how I want my pasta but hey that's just the way I see it. As well the dish was 26$ which is not cheap....my mother had the special and for 18$ she got soup, pizza and a small salad which is a better deal and tasted much better. I'll have to go back and try the pizza.

The food was great. We really enjoyed our pizza, 10/10. We also tried the soup of the day and it was good. The atmosphere is cozy and well decorated. The staff could be more friendly/polite. We asked for more bread on our table because it was delicious, after a while the waitress asked if we needed any thing and we reminded her about the bread and she said "Yes, you asked me once, it takes time". We didn't know that they were baking the bread at the moment (which is great) and it takes time, she could have explained it more politely since we were asking for it in a very polite/friendly way. But overall I recommend here for the food.

A great spot, a little off the beaten path, but well worth the effort! Great service and ambience. And oh yes, a really good steak served with fries. This has become a favourite spot that we will return to. June 2024 update: Dinner stops on the way back from Montreal seems to be the criteria for our stops here. This time I can say hands down one of the best hamburgers in the area. Not over done, or an over the top creation. Everything fresh and a great house salad accompaniment. Reservations are recommended as it's a busy spot. August 2024 update: Busy, loud, and the food is still great! Reservations definitely required.

This place has ok food but the issue here is not the food. We had reservations specifically for my heavily handicapped son's birthday. Once we arrived, we were informed that we had no reservation. We showed the waitress our cell phone log showing the call made to the restaurant's phone number 2 days prior to the date of our planned dinner. The staff was less than helpful in finding a solution. After arguing, they seated us outside right in the sunlight making us blind and very anxious to leave. The waitress also mentioned that we had only one hour to eat and then we had to leave. Very disappointed, I do not recommend this place and will...
