Great expérience at l'Impressionniste . The staff is super friendly and they seem to know almost everyone that came in. The seats are a little too close together so you hear other people's conversations. We were served water and a great little amuse bouche of warm brown crusty bread , homemade gerkins, a mousse de volaille that was to be honest insanely good. We chose the foie gras tasting menu with the accompanying wine. The food was pretty damn good, the lamb sweetbreads are old school and beautiful, the torchon de foie Gras with crusty bread and salted caramel sauce and compote was excellent. The wine are underflavored and they seem to have been opened a long time before service. But maybe my taste buds were little off. The main of beef with pan seared foie was good but I asked for medium rare and got medium. The foie seemed to be a bit too overcooked but still delicious. The red wine served was earthy , but overly sweet, a syrah if I remember correctly. They very nicely gave me a free glass of it though after I finished the first glass. So no complaints there. The tart tatin was very good and the cider served with it was great. All in all a great place to go. A little overpriced, and needs a bit of a face-lift. But the staff is amazing and the food was really good. Not blow your mind good but pretty good. Definetly a good place that I will try again. FYI we were there 3 hours , they don t rush you out the place which is awesome. They do this in France. So you...
Read moreMy husband and I were very impressed with this restaurant from the moment we stepped foot inside. It’s a family owned business, which the owners and family members are hands-on. That certainly gives it a personalized touch! We were received with a very friendly and warm greeting. The menu is not big, so you know that you’re getting fresh and delicious ingredients, however, it’s big enough with a nice variety of dishes that it will still make your choice decision a dilemma. But whatever you decide on, you cannot go wrong because it’s all Delish! Plus, the wonderful people there will definitely help guide you to your perfect choices. The service was impeccable! The setup and atmosphere is wonderful, spacious, airy and very relaxing. They have various seating sections, including a cozy outdoor terrace. All areas of the restaurant have lots of space between tables and beautifully set the way a dinner table should be…with real linens. They have a fantastic wine cellar that I would love to have in my home! The washrooms are Super Clean and very spacious. Also, not to worry about parking because they have a great size parking lot. Last but not least, even their name, “L’Impressionniste”, has a special appeal to it, that made it intriguing for us to give it a try. End results; Absolutely No Regrets & we are Definitely...
Read moreWe went this restaurant two years ago. During that time, the service was good, the food was excellent. So, it left me a really good impression. Last week, I took my boss and colleagues to the restaurant again. Everything has changed. There was almost no service. The mature man was rude and looked like we owed him money. No one came to our table during the whole dining only when they took the courses to us. The taste of the food is definitely worse then before and seemed cooked in a whole batch. To me, all of this is truly bad, but somehow still tolerable. But the following stuffs are disgusting. The mature waiter took the bill to us with an amount of tips already added on the bill. Then, HOW DARE the mature waiter ask us if we would like to add more tips!!! He told us that he forgot to count our beers and drinks for tips! Okay! Give he insisted this, I was more than willing and added an extra $5 to the bill to accommodate this poor mature beggar. I hope this mature guy can be aware his rudeness and improve the service of his restaurant once he saw this. Earn money from guests is your business but you have to make your guests feel satisfied to spend time and money in your restaurant. Otherwise, I would rather to donate...
