Heard a lot about this place and how amazing their poutine was so I had to try it since it was on my way back from QC - MTL.
Very decent prices. Very GOOD portions. Their sizes go from Mini, reguliere, moyenne to grande and they come filled to the brim when you eat there. (My take out was less filled due to the fact that it had to be closed with a lid)
I ordered a Regular sized Regular poutine (yes it was slightly confusing to order. See images)
Fries: regular thick cut fries thats ressembles to the ones from say a BelleProvince but it tasted a lot cleaner (clean oil!) other than that there was nothing special about them.
Gravy: regular brown gravy that youd find in most poutines but this one felt lighter and thinner which is a good thing in my opinion as I did not feel like I was going to need a 3 hour nap post inhaling of that poutine.
Cheese: The cheese is the reason why that poutine was so amazing! (They are a cheese producer before all) you know the cheese is good when it squeaks on your teeth with every bite 😍 the cheese is made fresh dailly and they do have a counter besides it that sells it by the bag. It was so good that I had to buy another poutine so that my family could try it but got a slight surprise when I got home 😂
Thai Poutine: Personally I dont find joy in eating dishes made with the westernized thai sauce (sweet and spicy) but rating it for what it is, it was decent. It came with breaded chicken and garnished with scallions but I would not order that again.
Even got an 8$ bag of cheese :)
Definitely worth the “detour”. Wasnt much of a detour from QC to MTL as it is located right on the side of the highway.
Prochaine visite à QC je vais repasser essayer une autre poutine :)

Read moreThis morning my mother and a family friend stopped at the Fromagerie to bring cheese back to Ontario. They had checked the website yesterday to make sure it would be open when they were leaving and the site indicated 7am. When they arrived at the fromagerie this morning it was locked up, even though the sign on the door confirmed it opened at 7am. There was another individual waiting as well. Our friend knocked and someone finally came to the door. This person told them they did not open till 8 and belligerently replied that the cash was not open when asked if they would make an exception considering my mother and our friend would be travelling a considerable distance to return home.
My family(aunts, uncles, cousins, ect) are frequent customers of your Fromagerie, even before your new establishment was built, as I'm sure others have been. We have always, in the past, referred people to your fromagerie.
We will no longer be doing so. We will find a fromagerie that stands by their word and...
Read moreThe perfect poutine, in my opinion.
(Update, July 3rd 2023)
While some people would say that that the Lemaire poutine is overrated, I stand by my opinion that this place easily surpass other locations.
Argument #1 The size of the portion is superior proportional to the price you pay. Hands down what you would pay at other locations is much greater than what you get here at a reasonable price.
Argument #2 The ratio fries/cheese/sauce is perfect. There is never too much cheese or too much fries in my poutine. When I scraped the bottom of my bowl there's just a few fries and a few cheese curds bathing in sauce left.
Argument #3 The cut of the fries and the cheese curds themselves allow a more balanced ratio with each bite. Rarely do I have to fight to get something more or less in my mouth. This I never have to cut the cheese curds before eating. And the cut of the fries is also impressively well done, at 7-8mm in thickness.
