Fromagerie Victoria — Restaurant in Sainte-Julie

With the great google rating and their websites menu description, I expected a great poutine. Unfortunately my expectations were too high I guess. Even though their website states crispy fries, both our poutine didn’t have crispy fries, some fries were close to being raw.. The regular sauce was okay, I’d say less salty than most but nothing that stands outs. At least the cheese curds were good and squeaky, not too salty either which was great but I found there wasn’t enough cheese curds compared to like ‘Fromagerie Qualité Summum’ or even ‘La banquise’. I came here expecting to be really impressed with their poutines, I heard so many good things about it...but maybe my expectations were too high, and this place was just kinda better than average , (at least for me). The cheese was really fresh, and this is what makes this place a bit different, but the overall taste of the poutines was kinda ho-hum. What is nice is that the poutines come in many different sizes from "bebe" to Large. We had a bebe with veggies, one small with popcorn chicken and medium regular. The restaurant is large with lots of seating, and there is also an ice cream...

Le fromage est super, mais sinon c'était une déception.

Un petit arrêt comme ça pour essayer une nouvelle poutine et on va avoir vite fait le tour, car le problème est: La sauce. En quantité insuffisante et beaucoup trop épaisse, elle était figée complètement sur le dessus. De plus, elle manquait de goût, assez pour avoir l'impression de manger une frite avec du fromage.

Si on va sur la poutine Poulet Popcorn sauce piquante. C'est du n'importe quoi. Tu demandes une petite poutine Poulet Popcorn, tu choisis ta sauce et la caissière te dit: C'est donc une petite poutine, extra sauce piquante, extra poulet popcorn. Mais non, j'ai commandé une petite poutine Poulet Popcorn non pas l'extra poulet popcorn. Ça peut sembler pareil, mais non, sur votre menu c'est indiqué "petite poutine poulet popcorn", ce n'est pas écrit un extra poulet popcorn. Là, on redoute d'avoir une poutine poulet popcorn, extra poulet popcorn. C'est vraiment étrange comme façon de gérer le menu. Mais trêve de poulet popcorn, c'était correct, mais la sauce piquante avait été toutes absorbé par le fameux poulet popcorn, que ça ne ressemblait plus vraiment à une poutine.

Pour le prix, on est dans le très dispendieux, environ 17$ pour la « grande » qui est environ l’équivalent à 13$ ailleurs. Et c’est cher 17$ pour une poutine qui manque de sauce. Et c’est environ 15$ pour la petite poulet popcorn.

Pour la déco, c’est sympa et chaleureux, mais l’expérience reste similaire à une chaine de service rapide comme le McDo. On est très loin de l’expérience authentique et familiale promis sur leur site web. À moins d’habiter à côté et de ne pas avoir d’autre choix, on ne fera pas le détour...
