🍫 Choclatérie de l’Île d’Orléans – A Sweet Escape Near Montmorency Falls Just a short drive from the stunning Montmorency Falls, tucked away on Île d’Orléans, is one of those places you don’t just visit — you remember. The Choclatérie here is more than just a stop for dessert; it’s an experience. We went for the Nutella scoop, and honestly, it was out of this world. Smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. But here’s the secret — there’s so much more that many visitors walk right past without noticing. ✨ Hidden gems not to miss: • The chocolate-dipped cones with unique local flavors (hint: ask for the seasonal fruit drizzle – it’s not always on the board, but it’s unforgettable). • Handmade truffles crafted with Québec-sourced ingredients – delicate, rich, and a perfect souvenir to take home. • Their frozen chocolate mousse cups (easy to miss in the display!) are the kind of treat that you won’t find in big-city dessert shops. • For true chocolate lovers, the dark chocolate bark with local berries is a must-try. The place itself feels charming and welcoming, with scenic views of the island that make your ice cream break feel like part of a perfect Québec road trip. Parking is easy, the staff are friendly, and you can even catch a glimpse of the chocolate-making magic inside. 🌟 Pro Tip: Visit here after walking the stairs at Montmorency Falls. It’s the sweetest reward for your effort, and it turns the trip into a memory worth sharing. If you’re in Québec City or planning a day trip, this stop is non-negotiable. It’s one of those local treasures that deserve way more attention than the big chain spots. 👉 Follow for more hidden gems across Canada – spots like this that even influencers miss, but deserve to be at the very top of your travel list.

This establishment is an exceptional destination for enjoying ice cream during the summer months. It offers a spacious and inviting environment, making it perfect for family outings. The ample space allows for a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere where families can gather, enjoy their treats, and create lasting memories together. One of the standout features of this place is the extensive variety of ice cream flavors available. Whether you have a preference for classic flavors like vanilla and chocolate or more adventurous choices like mint chocolate chip or salted caramel, there is something to satisfy every palate. The quality of the ice cream is top-notch, with rich, creamy textures and delicious, well-balanced flavors. Despite the high quality, the prices remain very reasonable, providing excellent value for money. In addition to its delightful ice cream offerings, the establishment boasts a prime location near the river. This scenic setting enhances the overall experience, offering patrons the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely stroll along the riverbank after their treat. The tranquil ambiance of the river creates a perfect backdrop for relaxation and unwinding. Overall, this ice cream shop combines a wonderful selection of flavors, a family-friendly environment, and a picturesque location to create a truly enjoyable summer outing. It’s a place where both the young and the young at heart can indulge in delicious ice cream while soaking in the beauty of their surroundings.

2023-05-10: Open Hours changed 9:00 - 17:00 (5pm) everyday of the week. Can't go there for sunsets anymore!!! :( ------ Very nice ice cream stand with a home made chocolate store. Ice cream cones were available with multiple dipping flavors. Many cone types are also offered. A large parking area was available and beautiful surroundings with marble tables or rockers for eating outside. It is also possible to walk across the street and enjoy the vue of Quebec City from the Island. This spot is in the middle of the St-Lawrence river so you get a feeling of how cruise passengers see Quebec for the first time. On low tide, animals and kids (adults also) can walk on the rocky shore and throw stones or pickup shells. At night it is the perfect spot to view the most beautiful sunset. You can often see the sunset and the moon rising at the same time.

We came here on a Friday evening to get some ice cream, and my friend and I shared a medium cone dipped in maple. I had never seen maple coating before so that's why I wanted to try it, but turns out it's just sugar. This was the first time I've ever seen ice cream like this though, as that coating was thick! Apparently that's how it is in Canada (or just Quebec? Not sure). It was great though! The ice cream inside was creamy, and the coating outside was thick. I thought it was too sweet though, and I wish I knew that's what it tasted like before we got it - chocolate would've probably been better. In any case, yum. There's some seating inside, and there's plenty of seating outside too. Plus it's close to the river, so taking an ice cream and walking around there is a good idea too. At 6.50 CAD for an ice cream, it's quite pricey, but it's quite big and the quality is...
