August 25, 2024 This is a follow up review to the one I did in July 2024 (we ordered take out and had a poor experience). The owner contacted us and offered a gift certificate to try them again... Now it is August 2024 and we used the gift certificate today to order dinner. Called in the order and it was all fine until we went to pick up the food. The young guy at the register did not know how to ring in a gift certificate, so he went to find help. We knew the order would be just shy of the full amount and we intended to add on perhaps a dessert at pick up. Instead of getting a gift certificate back (or just the amount left on our original one), I asked if I could get a piece of pie or a dessert. The blonde server taking my payment, said "well I already rung everything in, so I can't add it on". So I said, "how about you ring a new order in and I can pay the difference to get a piece of pie or something". The server looked over whelmed and said, "no, I am too busy" and left me standing there. You are too busy to sell me more food? Really? The order was also slightly wrong when we got it home (we asked for gravy on the side of the pork cutlet for dietary reasons, and the gravy was slathered all over the cutlet. Not a big deal as I just scrapped it off. But it did make the crust a bit soggy. All in all, the service we have been receiving from here is not great. The owner is very nice and tries, but the manager can't manage, and the servers don't have the training or will to provide good service. Sorry Mr. Ribs, but so long after a 30 year relationship. Cheers.
UPDATE: The owner did contact us regarding our review. She was exceptionally nice and apologetic for our poor experience. We certainly appreciate the acknowledgement and we shared some additional details with her to hopefully help them succeed. If you don't know there is a problem, you can't fix it. A big thank you for listening to our concerns and encouraging us to visit again with a gift certificate. We do wish you success.
Review: My family used to love going to Mr. Ribs, and did so quite often that we knew the owners by name. With the new owners (now of about 2 or 3 years), the place has gone downhill in an Olympic way. The restaurant is not exactly clean, or smells clean. If you want good service, it really depends on who you get. Robert the manager is rude, and needs a lesson on how to treat customers. We ordered take-out... ordered online, then called to confirm, then went to pick up.... and waited for over 30 mins. They said they lost the order because the day staff doesn't talk to the evening staff. The last 3 times we went there or picked up food, there have been issues. Sorry Mr. Ribs, but you had a good thing and let it slip out of reach. My hard earned money will be...
Read moreWe needed a place for a group of 10 to meet for a meal after a memorial service. It was a last-minute thing, so I called a few places the morning of, and they were all booked. When I called Mr Ribs they were more than accommodating. He asked if it was a special occasion and when I told him about the memorial service, he was very respectful and said he'd put us in the group area and try not to seat too many others in the vicinity so it would be quieter. When we arrived at our reservation time, the restaurant was incredibly busy but we were seated immediately! There was another large group seated in the same area but it wasn't too noisy and they left just before we got our food so it was nice to have the space to ourselves. The waitress was sooo good... I wish I had got her name. She was very attentive and friendly. We all were amazed by the vast array of items on the menu and wondered if all the various dishes could be prepared at a high quality. Every one of us ordered very different dishes -- baby back ribs, souvlaki, fettuccine alfredo, jambalaya, cutlets, burger, fish, dry ribs -- so we definitely got to see if the quality was maintained among them. We weren't disappointed. All the food came out in quick succession and was fresh and hot. Everyone was happy with their plates and the waitress was quick with any extras like cutlery, napkins and ketchup. We were quite impressed that the fresh vegetable was asparagus (considering it was January) and it was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious!! I never heard one complaint about the food. The portions were so huge that 6 of the 9 of us took home leftovers. We were very pleased with our experience from start to finish. I would highly...
Read moreWorst experience. First off, Server spilled water on my guest & gave attitude when we asked for napkins. Said, "It's just water!" Soup was not restaurant quality. Barely warm. My guest was talked into ordering the daily special for "a dollar more to get a Full rack of baby back ribs". Which seemed to be boiled & BBQ sauced. The gravy was delivered a few minutes later, cold & thick. I had to ask 2x for my baked potato fixings when server snapped back at me, "Yeah! Give me a minute." I ate some of my dry potato with butter. It was cold by the time the fixings came around. My kid's Vegetarian pizza, ordered with NO cheese came With cheese. Server realized the mistake & then said "just try picking it off" and used the serving tool to dig at the pizza! My Kid literally yelled at her to stop, said she'd eat the pizza with cheese because we didn't want to wait another 40 mins.
Also, when we were ordering, the server wouldn't just be quiet & let us order. Kept talking, Loudly, insisting I get a combo when I wanted chicken. The server was full of attitude. Worst server I've experienced. I was a server for 9 years. I know what it takes. That service was horrible. Mr. Ribs, do yourself a favor & get someone in there that knows how to manage the...
