Summer Palace — Restaurant in Saskatoon

Food is good but service is the worst in town. The staff is lack basic training and professionalism for working in a restaurant. Not only was there a complete lack of greeting, but they were also rude and condescending—talking amongst themselves and swearing behind customers' backs. There was zero respect for me as a customer, and even less for the restaurant they represent. I ordered for pickup. When I pay, I asked for a breakdown of the receipt for business purposes. The staff member seemed confused, and then told me I had to pay first before I could get a proper breakdown. Upon receiving it, I noticed something shocking: The receipt didn’t list the names of the dishes I ordered—only the generic term “food.” Any restaurant worth its salt knows that receipts should display both the total amount and the individual dish names. When I pointed this out, the staff member arrogantly responded with, "Didn’t you see the prices on the menu?" The problem is, I ordered online, and their menu has changed since then, so I had no idea what to expect. I was not only disappointed, but the dismissive attitude was downright insulting. Went in for lunch after being famished while working in the heat. We were the only people in for lunch. A group of what appeared to be regulars came in after we ordered. They got their food and service before us. Worst service and food ever. I ordered two vegetarian dishes off the menu. Neither had sauce, they were just grease ladden veggies and noodles. They did not have any egg rolls in stock. The server never brought out the pepsi I ordered. Finally after my food came, he asked If I wanted coke, so I agreed. That never came. Poor service. The food is to share, and I have little ones with me. They have new menu items on the wall. I told the server that I'd try a couple new items. Server said good. The fish mustard soup came out, small sip was way too spicy. Told her my kids can't handle that much spice.
