We just spent 3 nights here, and we loved it. The location is prime, the cabins are located above a marina and restaurant ... which is super handy as we docked our boat in one of the available slips. The food in the restaurant was tasty, but we only ate there one night, as we used the BBQ on our deck as well as the communal firepit, to cook food for our other dinners. There is something magical about cooking over fire, in the open air, surrounded by nature and such stunning views. The host was extremely helpful and always reachable, either in person (as he lives nearby) or through email. He answered all our questions quickly, and he even offered us extra days to stay (which we sadly had to turn down due to our work commitments). The cabin is a bit dated, but it was clean and had all the amenities we needed. Water pressure was sufficient, and water was hot enough. Both bedrooms were a bit cramped, but we only slept there, so we were more than happy with the layouts. The beds/mattresses were decent, and none of us complained. The TV worked fine, but we barely watched it. The kitchen was well supplied, but since we brought some of our supplies, we had little need for their stuff. One thing to note ... the fridge is a small "mini hotel style" model ... this didn't bother us that much as we had two large coolers to keep items cold, which didn't fit into the fridge. Two bags of ice lasted us the whole weekend. The electric heaters kept us toasty (as nights got a bit cool), and the bathroom's in-floor heating was a delightful surprise. Upon our checkout, the host instructed to leave all of our recycling and garbage in bags at the cabin, as the cleaning fee covers the removal of trash. This saved us from having to lug it all back home with us. Not like we had a lot of refuse, but some adult beverages were consumed, while we were sitting around the firepit, so our "empties" were collected in a cardboard box and left for the clean-up crew. Overall ... we all thought that this past weekend's stay at Glen Burney Lodge was a delight. We have already spoken about making plans to come back next year.

Decided to try this place out for mine and my boyfriend’s anniversary. While booking a reservation on the phone, we were told that we would be given complimentary champagne with our dinner, which was never brought out so we had to ask for it after appetizers, and halfway through our meals. The waitress apologized and this was not her fault, but rather poor communication and organization from staff, which should not be occurring as this restaurant is pricey. Perhaps management needs to hire more staff, as there were only two girls working and overwhelmed by how busy it was - so we understood how it was easy to forget this. A second issue occurred as we arrived on a Tuesday and the menu was literally cut in half due to the main chefs absence (as told by waitress). This was not brought to the attention of guests prior to booking the reservation. If guests have a meal in mind prior to attending, and come to discover the menu has 4 main meals on it after arrival, this is disappointing. They have updated their online menu recently, however returning guests may not be aware of this change and should be told over the phone during booking. The Cesar salad was delicious, however the beer battered pickerel came with 3 tiny pieces of fish, with bland fries for $30. The brisket sandwich was good, except for the soggy buns that were not toasted but rather placed, straight from a package. Could honestly get better food at a pub chain for half the price. Unfortunately, you will be paying for the view, and the view only (which is beautiful I might add) if you decide to come. However, most people expect reasonable portion sizes, and better than “alright” food for these prices.

We had many good experiences here last summer. This summer, has been nothing but disappointing. We came for our birthday a couple weeks ago and made a reservation. When our server came to us for our order, we told her we’d like to just start with drinks first and order our food shortly. She rudely said to us “well we’re kinda busy here so..” making us feel like we had to rush out even though we had JUST got there and we made a reservation for that reason. This server was miserable, unfriendly and made our experience awful.

Fast forward 3 weeks and we go again. Hoping it would be a different experience. (Also made a reservation but this time with 2 kids). We get seated and no booster or high chair was offered until 5 min after us sitting down. They bring us a high chair when they realized my toddler was on my lap. Minutes later they asked me if I could give up my high chair to give to a 6 month old baby who arrived (of course I said yes) the point is, you are a restaurant - why don’t you have adequate seating for children???

When our server took our food order, she had asked if we wanted our kids food out first and we said yes. After 20 minutes we finally got our FIRST drinks- and immediately after got our food (our fries were cold and gross), But our children’s food didn’t come out. We were practically done our meal before our children’s chicken finger and fries came out. This is completely unacceptable. Our kids are 4&2 and luckily they didn’t have an absolute meltdown over this and we were able to distract them until theirs came out. Our sever also never checked on us throughout, didn’t ask us if we needed another drink etc. just all around terrible service and food. this was the most disappointing experience we have had at a restaurant I...
