Well, after a 20 year hiatus from Lick's, a burger we fondly remembered enjoying, we went out of our way to have lunch.

  1. When asking for mayonnaise for our fries, and being told, no, they don't have mayonnaise but do have garlic mayonnaise, we did not question, sadly. This supposed mayonnaise was slathered on the hamburger bun and put in a small takeout container. To our dismay, this creamy garlic flavoured condiment was miracle whip salad dressing.

Miracle Whip is Not mayonnaise.

The server said, when we brought the container back, "I don't make it."

  1. When we read that "you could add cheese or bacon" the sign did not specify it was back bacon. Surprise.

And the woman putting the cheese on the bun said the burger was hot enough to melt the cheese. No it was not.

  1. 100% lean steak burger does not mean the patty is 100% lean steak. Wording is important. Legally / technically there was likely 100% lean steak in the patty. We are not sure what percentage. Based on documentaries, we do know that emulsified pink goo can be said to be 100% beef. Still filler.

  2. i had an orange juice as my combo beverage (talk about an expensive stop) and it had a date of June 19, 2025 on the bottle. It tasted off. What are they serving such short dated product?

  3. Generally I feel okay after a delicious burger. Not 10 minutes after this experience my stomach felt a...

Meh! Aaahhh, the "famous" Lick's!!! I remember going to Lick's, way back in their infancy, in Toronto, years ago. It used to be So Good, but that was the past. The then decided to change the recipe - first their burgers by adding fillers, adding too much pepper, and then their fries were changed. I stopped going about 20 yrs ago. And Now it's not at all what it used to be. Sad really. Was at the Lick's near Horeshoe Lake, ON just yesterday, and was VERY disappointed. If you're on the run, and just need a quick bite, then it's ok, but otherwise, if you want to actually enjoy your meal - I would suggest you Move On.

We got 3 meals - mine was a typical burger combo. The burger was even more full of fillers than I remember. And the bun was twice the size of the burger. Condiments and veggies were fresh thankfully. Fries were just ho-hum. My pop had hardly any flavour, due to it being so very watery, and lacking in proper syrup balance. Overall, we were very dissappointed. Oh, and it was expensive for the quality that we got.(I'm trying to be polite here).

We'll go to the "other place" next time. Sorry Lick's but you've become just a fraction of the Toronto icon that you used to be. Very...

Way too overpriced for an undersized, undercooked chicken breast. The cashier was constantly leaving the lineup of customers, and providing instruction to the clearly unqualified line cook... who to be fair... was also alone in the kitchen. The fries and poutine were placed on our tray a full 4 minutes before our 2 burgers were placed on the tray, and as such were no longer hot. The chicken burger, tiny and undercooked. When I complained and said it still didn't look cooked, I was told "that's how it's served", and "I'd be happy with it..everybody is"... over half went in the garbage. The hamburger, unfortunately, only had one bite taken out of it by my wife, and thrown in the garbage. Poorly prepared... and very poorly served. I've been an avid fan of the franchise for years, back in it's Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton days. I frequented many of them. Often. This location is wholly unrepresentative of what the franchise used to be. ...

You must be DESPERATE to eat here..... I only came to Licks because the East Indians running the Timmies decided they didn't want to work, so after waiting 20 mins, I tried for a burger. First off. The menu STARTS at $20.00 for a combo, and it goes UP from there. They wanted me to pay $30.00+ for a BURGER AND FRIES COMBO!!!! What the actual Fark ??? Seriously??? So I said screw that and got the cheapest option, which still came up to $22.00, and the cashier had some bad attitude because the tour bus aggravated her. Picture provided of the $22.00 combo (which would easily be 12 - 13 anywhere else but you know... "reasons" they jacked it) Would I come back??? Lol no... even if I was desperate.

Nostalgia!!! My friend and I popped by. We used to work at Lick’s in southern Ontario … a few more years ago than we’d like to admit. Hopefully optimistic we grabbed a 1 and 1 each. Nervous I took my first bite of a home burger in YEARS!!! And guess what?! Perfect!! Same Guk, cheese, spices and beef!! Drool!! The staff was lovely and took our giggles of nostalgia in stride and made sure we had a great visit! Told us the original owner is still working here!! Love!! Definitely stop! You won’t leave hungry, and it’s just as good as it used to be ā¤ļøā¤ļø

Service was very quick for lunchtime and friendly. The poutine I ordered was very underwhelming. Cost around $12 including taxes. Fries were fresh and very good, gravy was good, but the shredded cheese is what killed it for me. I wouldn't recommend the poutine, but the fries are definitely worth it. The portion sizes are also very good for most meals from what I could tell.
