Visited last Saturday with my fiancé, and had a fairly good experience. The waitress (working by herself, due to unreliable co-workers calling off), was swamped. This meant delays in getting our food that I suspect are not customary when optimally staffed. Unfortunately, this problem warrants mention.
That said, the restaurant was clean, comfortable, convenient if you live in town, and had a few great options for breakfast. We found ourselves having French toast and a Western sandwich, both of which were pretty good. The prices are slightly above average but given the costs small businesses face these days due to rising fuel and delivery costs, it’s understandable. We would absolutely visit again...

Unaware of the change in ownership, we didn't look at the menu and just ordered our usual breakfasts. Service was prompt and friendly but there was a noticeable difference in food quality: eggs were undercooked, toast was burnt, sausages had an odd taste and there was no garlic mash. Plus, the new ownership has done away with the breakfast special so it cost us $12 more than we paid for the same two meals in December!! Apparently the evening meals are good so we may give those a try but we'll be looking for a new weekend...
Read moreWe usually come here on the way to the cottage for what used to be a great breakfast. The usual waitress and cook are no longer here and now we are really not happy with it. My husband does not like dark toast and today it came with black charred areas. His eggs looked almost scrambled and were supposed to be over easy. When he tried to advise the owner of this he refused to concede the toast was too dark. This was the second time in a row he had issues with his breakfast. The last time he asked for crispy bacon but it was pale and floppy. I love the western omelette or sandwich which is why we come. We will never...
