Don’t believe the hype.

Slow service and mediocre food. Pad Thai tasted like syrup and nothing else. No veggies even in the dish. No salt. A few notches down from Thai express at the food court, but for 3 times the price. You can expect to pay $75 for 2 sub-par meals, and 18% tip is the smallest amount selectable on the debit machine.

The day before I went here, I mixed a can of tuna into Mr Noodles ramen and cooked it over the fire. It was around 100 better than anything on me or my friend’s plate from this restaurant.

Also, this place seems to be a gathering place for the most pretentious people in an otherwise down-to-earth town, which has many local businesses that I’m happy to support. The impression the other reviews give is that this restaurant is somehow the small town’s saving grace….it’s not.

The food was great - veggies and meats were cooked to perfection. The sauces could have used just a little more salt or acid to bring out all the flavours, however they were still delicious.

Service was prompt and polite, with menu items explained when asked. The music was an interesting choice too, not bad but not quite in line with dining, but that's just me.

Price-wise, I feel like it's a bit pricey for the portion size you get. If a main stir-fry dish came with a small bowl of jasmine rice, I feel like that would balance the portion-to-price ratio a bit more. It would also act as a fantastic vessel for the tasty sauces.

I'm happy to see more places like this in my home region! I'll definitely be back in the future to...

Warm hospitality and exotic dishes. You will be surprised by the authentic Thai cuisine in this unassuming little restaurant on the road through Shawville, Quebec. The menu includes approximately 45 items including appetizers and soups, stir fries and curries, classic noodle dishes like Pad Thai, deep-fried dishes and Thai salads. There is a basic wine menu, and domestic and imported beer (Thai, Chinese, Dutch). I really enjoyed the Gaeng Panang, a creamy broth-like vegetarian red curry served with jasmine rice.
