Anson's Restaurant & Pub — Restaurant in Slemon Park

Disappointed in our Saturday night out dinner! Both ordered Steak Dinners with mine being med-well & his being med. His was done well and mine was done under med. I had to get up from our table & bring it to attention to the waitress. They offered me another steak, which meant another 12-14 mins waiting. My husband has already accepted his and half eaten his meal. I accepted to wait. After a few minutes I thought to ask if I would be getting a whole new meal as my baked potatoes and veggies we're now cold & the waitress looked at me & said 'Oh yes I'll order the rest'. Had I not asked I would have been brought out just the steak. We needed water refilled and while one waitress talked at the bar and our waitress was no where to be seen I had to leave our table the 2nd time to ask for water. I then had to ask to have my old plate removed from the table. I was brought my 2nd plate of food & yes it was cooked right. My husband sat with his empty in front of him and our waitress just walked by and didn't retrieve it so we sat it on a table near ours. I must add that our waitress came to our table 1 time to ask if our meal was ok and it was when I just put my first bite of my 2nd meal in my mouth and hadn't even chewed yet & had her stand next to me and wait till I gave my answer. There had been 2 tables besides ours the whole time. Very disappointed in the service. We've eaten here many times over the years & tonight I've seen that besides how good your food is cooked it all comes down to whether you enjoy your dining experience with how well your waitress serves you. This hotel and restaurant has the most loving, caring and friendly staff i have ever come in contact with . The cleanliness is at the upmost standards and service extrordinar. I have had the pleasure of spending time in the hotel before i started my journey at the academy. Now i spend my time in their restaurant and must say after 4 months the service , smiles and help are the same as the were when i first arrived. I have travelled many places and stayed in many hotels and i can happily say my best experience was at the Slemon park hotel and conference center and Ansons's restaurant. I would recommend this business to anyone coming to Summerside PEI and Charlottetown is only 45 minutes away. We went for lunch. The coffee tasted terrible and I asked for a new one and new creamers. The second tasted just as bad. My husband drank his black and it didn't have the same horrible taste. There was no apology, no trying to figure it out. Then the bill had three coffees charged on it! I couldn't drink the two I had been given!! I should not have been charged for them. Husband didn't notice until we had left or we would have not paid for them. We ordered soup and it never came. Husband had to ask for it to be removed from the bill.
