Read moreThe owner is rather ignorant, I've had two interactions with her and she's very short, etc. As she holds a "Biker Nite" for menial RC's, and coming from Toronto to Mildmay as part of a larger established group of Harley riders, and the past 2 yrs assisted in the routes for Poker Runs, or Annual Club runs, I've/ we've diverted them from this establishment, in turn losing that revenue in the $1000's on one given weekend at 4x year; tripling or quadrupling the income of your "Biker Nites" held every Thursday. As she has too been extremely rude to a certain bunch of guys, not in their colors and not realizing who they were. This is THE SERVICE INDUSTRY, if your being all Isshy; stay out of your establishment and let those amazing young ladies you have working tirelessly for you do their jobs! Your wings are far too overpriced, and extremely small. The Wing House across the street is farrrrr better as per wings, yet you pride yourself on your wings? Your butter tarts maybe, they are delicious. I've lived here 13- going on 14 yrs now, and have been into your establishment tops 5 times, to only experience the same negative experience, thinking ( and coming from the bar service industry such as huge volume clubs like the Gasworks as an example and understand that there ARE frustrating days, but you NEVER AT ALL COSTS ALLOW THAT TO OVERFLOW ONTO YOUR CUSTOMERS!) It's extremely disheartening that I won't any longer spend my hard earned money as I work in the skilled trades sector, and won't suggest your bar to fellow union brothers & sister here from all over our Country and working at The Bruce, yet we go to the Wing House. Happy, smiling employees, great wings and they spend $2-300/ per brother / at 6-10 brothers every Thursday. Leaving the tip outs at approx $1-150.00 per server. Truly...
I went in after the Santa Claus parade wanting to order takeout, I wouldn’t have minded waiting for my food as it was very busy, except I never even got an order in.
I walked in with my two siblings at 8:00 and asked 4 different waitresses if I could order for takeout. One gave us a menu and never came back, the second asked if we had our order taken, I said “no” and she responded with “okay, good” and left, I went up to the bar and asked another lady and she said she would run some drinks and come right back to me- she never came back to me. Lastly I tried asking one more young lady if I could place a takeout order she said “yeah one second” went to a table in the foyer with people drinking, chatted like they were friends and disappeared behind the bar. I spent an entire 30 minutes just trying to get some food for myself and my siblings with no results, and so I am rather disappointed.
I’ve eaten here before at the food is delicious, I’m just rather upset at not even being able to just PLACE my order. A long wait is perfectly fine with me if I knew we were actually going to receive food. We left after 30 minutes of practically being ignored, and went to the convenience store to get the kids an ice cream for being so patient, while I was in tears from pure frustration.
I would come back, it’s just unfortunate that I had to learn the hard way to either call in an order or reserve a table, otherwise we won’t be...
Read moreWhen you are driving through small towns on a Thanksgiving Day you are bound to find it difficult to get an eating place open. Hungry as we were our return trip from Torbermory to our home just did not throw up one. We were okay with ANY eating place.
And as we drove on the main street of this little wonderful town of Mildmay saw the OPEN sign on this pub. The main door did not inspire us at all. (you will see the image below) But we were hungry and we wanted to eat. So we entered the place.
The inside of the place was a complete difference. It did look old and had a lot of artifacts that were very dated. We were told the building the pub stood on was built in the 1800s and the SAME FAMILY owned the pub for over 100 years !!!! Wow...... no wonder the place had such a character about it. Everything inside was very good and belied the impression made by the door.
The server we got was very friendly. We wanted some local beer which she suggested off the tap and these were amazing. The food was amazing. Well prepared, well presented and very tasty. The overall ambiance was phenomenal
If you ever want a great watering hole in a charming small town, with a lot of character and one that whets your appetite, Harley's is SURELY the place to go.
If ever I pass through Mildmay again, a pit stop at Harley's will be...
