This place is under new ownership and they are still figuring things out, so I won’t be too harsh. We were a party of 15 last Sunday, and I have to say the two servers, who split the table between them, rose to the challenge. Excellent service, attentive without being annoying. The menu, however, doesn’t offer a lot of choice. Every kind of lobster dish, from salads to sandwiches to pasta, is on offer, most for $30 or more. In addition there is one burger, one vegetable pasta, and one- or two-piece fish and chips, , which I ordered (one piece of fish for $19, I think.) The fries were the coated variety, not too bad, but the fish wasn’t great. A thick batter coating, most of which I left on the plate, and the haddock was dry and tasteless. I would have like to see a scallop dish on offer, but they were only available as part of a special dish: 8-ounce steak and scallops with mussel appetizer for an eye-watering $49. I hope they’re able to develop a more varied menu soon. Oh, and the teeny, tiny slice of the highly-touted key lime did not rate the $12 price tag. There was a singer performing that night, so it was difficult to hear ourselves. He was excellent, however, and sang up every song we knew, so we...

If you’re looking for a mosquito-free place to watch the sun set over the South Gut, this restaurant offers beautiful views. The staff is friendly and the decor is exactly what you’d expect and want in a waterfront seafood eatery. The food however leaves much to be desired. For $91.92 (after tax), we got a fair-to-small sized cut of Salmon, some steamed frozen-not-fresh flavourless carrots & parsnips, and two scoops of strangely desiccated and cold mashed potatoes. We also had a small cup of chowder and a soft drink.

To cap the meal off, there was a very drunk older woman sat directly behind us that kept yelling and berating her husband with a string of swearing and homophobic slurs that was frankly, quite impressive, but perhaps belongs at a pub and not a family restaurant. The staff just ignored it and let her go on until she got bored and left. Hardly the fault of the Restaurant, but definitely a detractor of the experience as a whole that could have been dealt with by a manager or owner.

Definitely not the romantic birthday dinner we had planned for my wife while visiting the east coast for the first time.

Mediocre food in a Gorgeous location. “Come for the view,...

First and last... have been around the food service industry for nearly 40 years. Have driven past this place for most of my life on a weekly basis. Have often heard stories, some bad, and of course, some good. Decided to give it a try before continuing on our drive. Ordered 2 piece fish and fries. At $17.99 I figured the serving would be beyond most places. Wish I had taken a photo now. Anyway, the fish I have to say was delicious. The portions were atrocious. The two piece fish was actually one regular portion at another normal restaurant, but not here they cut the single serving in half and made it a 2 piece. Throw in a very small handful of fries and you still leave, with an almost empty stomach. But $17.99, come on people. You folks need to step it up a notch. You Can't compete if you're not in the contest.!! The restaurant was pretty much empty, in the middle of a hot summer day, with loads of traffic going by.??, that should be your first clue, that something we're doing isn't right or isn't working. Staff were doing their best. Hard to work and put out quality and consistency, when operators are penny pinching and don't realize they are only hurting their...

Great dinner and very accommodating staff as we came 30 mins prior to closing. Waitress was awesome and very friendly. We tried a variety of items including the Lobsterlicious Corn Chowder which online says it is a starter. It is only available in July so not on the menu day to day. Well if you order it, it comes with a small lobster roll as well! Just be prepared for a lot of food as we ordered mains as well! We also ordered the scallop platter which was deep fried scallops with fries. My wife ordered the lobster roll which was incredible. Fresh and full of meat. Not a lot of mayo so no lobster flavour lost And my friend and I each got the lobster dinner. Had the choice of lobster size up to two pounds! Could have had the chance to pick our own but we all got busy chatting and never did it. Had a very nice patio and water front as well Worth the stop!

Went here for an early dinner, ordered myself a caesar salad & 1lb mussels. The salad was fine, not great, but whatever. I think I ate about 7 mussels before returning them to the kitchen; none of the beards had been removed and they were all full of grit. My server and another who overheard my complaint did not seem surprised whatsoever. I also heard a third server selling mussels to a different table as I was leaving so I don't think they care that their food is subpar. The mussels were removed from my bill, so I guess I'm supposed to be grateful, but I'm also still hungry. I leave 3 stars because my son had a great time. He ordered a hot dog, and upgraded to sweet potatoes & I let him get an ice cream sundae because I didn't want to dampen his experience.

We visited The Lobster Galley during our road trip through the Maritimes and it was simply amazing. It was the best meal we’ve had so far. The lobster bites are sensational, incredibly fresh, and full of flavour. The deep-fried mussels were new to us, but they’re now our favourite way to eat them. Even people in our group who don’t usually like mussels couldn’t get enough. The atmosphere is exactly what you’d hope for in a lobster restaurant, with a spectacular view right from our table. The service was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Prices are excellent for the quality you get. I would recommend The Lobster Galley to anyone. It was our best discovery on this trip and it will be the first stop we make when we come back.
