Sunshine Chinese Food Restaurant — Restaurant in South Stormont

Let me explain why I awarded 5 stars.

This restaurant is in a small strip mall, and the business itself is somewhat small. Do not let that fool you thinking it reflects on the food or service.

Upon walking into the establishment I was greeted by a smiling woman who was obviously the owner. Since it was later after their usual dinner crowd had left she seated me at a table in their dining area rather than in the area just inside the door. I later realized why she did this.

In a few minutes a friendly waitress came to take my order. After ordering I started replying to text messages thinking there was going to be some time to kill. Within less than ten minutes the combo plate I had ordered arrived at the table surprising me.

It was steaming hot which is how I like my food. Otherwise lukewarm is just yucky.

All the items were fresh and had good flavour. I thoroughly enjoyed the food.

While I was eating it became apparent why they had not seated me in the regular area inside the door because they took up the carpeted runners there and mopped the entire floor after they had given the tables a good wipe down as well. This is why I thought the place looked so clean when I first walked in.

Ordered here this past Sunday. Older lady on the phone, do us and the business a favor, either quit or retire. You are definitely not a people person and by far the rudest order taker I've ever spoken too. Ya you might be busy but sheeeesh! Sunshine food is good, nothing to rave about but for the price, you don't get much. And their price keep going up and up. Our whole family all agree, the egg rolls have gone down in quality and taste, yet the price increases. I remember buying a dozen for 12.95 now its 18.95?? We haven't ordered from here in a long time. Only reason we did is because Panda's is closed on Sundays and we were in the mood for Chinese. Nope, never again. Stick with Pandas from now on. Plus Pandas as up'd their egg rolls so Sunshine aint got nothing over Pandas now. OH and the order taker at Pandas actually sounds like he or she likes working or makes...

I Have a horrible disease called ALS & I had horrible experience with the owner Iris! I drove 15 kilometres to get to the restaurant & i got my cane & walked in & my bag of food was right on the counter & i waited 10 minutes at the door & they all could see me & not one employee came out so i could pay & leave & go home & eat, i was so angry i left & called the owner to complain she said "too busy to listen to complaints" i'll see you next time & hung up on me! Trust me she'll never see me again they have a business that's established but the service is horrendous!! So i give them no stars & a big thumbs down & now they're an established business they don't care about the customers & the food isn't worth the price Panda is just as good & a lots cheaper & it's in the city!
