Went for dinner and trivia. Trivia was fun but the service was brutal. We reserved a table that didn't exist when we got there. They had 2 servers on that could take orders and get drinks and 2 others that weren't allowed to take orders, just clear tables. The girls clearing tables were the only ones we ever saw but they couldn't get us anything. I'm sure they weren't too young to serve as I saw one of them drinking. We were served one drink and had to go to the bar and pay cash if you wanted another as they wouldn't add it to the bill, no one came back to ask if we wanted another drink. The servers were tied up at the bar taking care of the drink orders instead of serving tables. We went an hour early to try to eat before the trivia started but it took an hour to have someone take our food order and 2 hours later when we went to ask about the food they said they had run out of some of the stuff we ordered but no one had come to let us know, or even acknowledged our table for that matter. We decided to cancel the food and pay for the drinks and they proceeded to try to charge us for the food we never had. They bit off more than they could chew and their attempt to drum up business, I believe, has lost them business. Way understaffed and unorganized! They need a bartender and servers who can take orders. The kitchen could use some help as well as we are pretty sure we only saw one person in there trying to manage the whole thing on their own....
Read moreI ended up here as it was the only place open, and I am so happy I did. I ordered the lobster mac and cheese and it was honestly the best I’ve ever had. I am in town for work from Calgary and have paid double for something half as good. There was a literal chunk of claw, and the flavour was amazing. I had a ceaser (drink) which was also great. There was one person serving, running food, and bartending... and he was hustling to give good service! (It’s hard to staff a place like this). The chef also did a quality check and brought me a side of garlic toast when I asked ... I needed to soak up all that delicious sauce. Overall a great experience, I want to go back and...
Read moreThe Silverfox is a must try for those who are often disappointed when dining out. Dave is passionate about what he puts on a plate and makes the extra effort to ensure customer satisfaction, we appreciate his table-side visits. Huge bonus is that the vast majority of what’s on the menu is gluten free- my wife (who is Celiac) has had the luxury of making selections that she has been denied for several years when dining out. Dave, if you happen to read this, she appreciates you giving her onion rings again, now she’s got a craving for ginger beef 😉
Edit: 6/21/22 Dave is no longer there making this review...
