We are from the US and found this restaurant through Google search. Looking at the menu online, we saw that their pricing is on the higher end so we had high hopes. Here are our thoughts: Pros: - The restaurant is nice, feels modern - Sisig was great! Probably the best item on their menu - Lomi was good - inihaw na pusit was also good! - the older lady who helped us pack up our left overs was very nice Cons: - Lechon kawali. It was served cold, the serving was small unlike what’s shown in the pictures and not worth the price. - Chicken inasal. It was dry and honestly didn’t taste like it was freshly grilled - Chop suey. It tasted bland - Service. As Filipinos, we are welcoming by nature, but we did not feel welcomed there somehow. We waited for someone to check-in on us, but nothing so we ended up calling them and asked for water refills. Mind you, it didn’t look like they were busy as it was just only us and another family during that time, but yet they didn’t appear attentive to their customers and we had to call their attention every time we needed something. We understand that this restaurant is new and we hope that things improve in the future.

Located in an unassuming St. Catharine’s neighbourhood, Pinoy Grill & Restaurant is definitely a good choice for a unique family meal in the area. The layout is spacious, the interior is bright and the staff is extremely welcoming. We ordered two value meals (one main, rice, two spring rolls, soup, noodles and a sesame ball) and two smoothies for our Sunday lunch. All of the food is prepared fresh, and the flavours are well-balanced overall. My only criticisms of our particular meal was that the spring rolls were a tad salty and the squid was slightly undercooked creating a rubbery texture however the pork bbq and the side soup (sinigang) get special mention for their strong flavours. Value-wise you are definitely getting a full meal for a decent price ($19.99/person) in an area where Filipino food options are limited. If you’re looking for a hearty family meal with Asian flavours, this place may be your spot. 4.5/5

Pinoy Grill restaurants offer a delectable journey into the heart of Filipino cuisine. The moment you enter, the aroma of grilled meats and savory spices transports you to the vibrant streets of the Philippines. The ambiance often reflects a warm and welcoming atmosphere, mirroring the hospitality ingrained in Filipino culture.

Service at Pinoy Grill establishments is characterized by friendliness and a genuine desire to make guests feel at home. The staff is often knowledgeable about the menu, ready to assist with recommendations or provide insights into the diverse array of Filipino dishes.

The menu is a celebration of Filipino flavors, showcasing signature dishes like adobo, sinigang, and lechon. However, the true star of Pinoy Grill restaurants is often the grilled fare – from skewers of marinated meats to seafood delicacies cooked to perfection. The use of local ingredients and traditional cooking techniques contributes to an authentic dining experience.

Portions are generous, encouraging communal dining, which is a common practice in Filipino culture. The vibrant colors of the dishes and the burst of flavors create a feast for both the eyes and the palate. To complement the culinary experience, Pinoy Grill restaurants often feature Filipino-inspired drinks and desserts, adding a sweet note to the gastronomic adventure.

In essence, Pinoy Grill restaurants serve as culinary ambassadors, introducing diners to the rich tapestry of Filipino cuisine in an atmosphere that celebrates both tradition...

Pricey! Checked this place out based on recommendations from relatives. New resto, opened in March. All the furniture looks new; some still had tags. Nice, clean set up. Service was OK. There didn't seem to be a system in place as to which staff looked after which tables. We waited a bit for someone to take our order and we ended up going to the front counter, assuming this was what we're supposed to do. However, subsequent customers had their order taken at their table, fairly quickly. Our meal was rather disappointing. My husband and I each had the "value meal" with pampano and squid respectively. At $20 a plate we expected to feel full but we were still hungry! Portions could certainly be increased. Also a pet peeve with family-run businesses is allowing their kids to run amok. Three small children were running in & out of the kitchen, unchecked. This is a business. Be professional. And I believe this is contrary to public health guidelines. Would really like to see more Filipino food establishments succeed but some...
