We had the opportunity to stay in one of the gorgeous period designed suites last week and boy what a treat! The workmanship and craftsmanship throughout the whole Hotel is breathtaking! If I had to pick out one specific area of the hotel that was my favourite, I would have to say my evening bath in their luxurious clawed foot bath tub found in the one of the elegant shared bathrooms! Shear luxury with candles, bath salts and fluffy robes. First class service and nothing is overlooked! Arriving on Friday we partook in the Black Cat Cafe's (associated and run passionately by the gracious landlords!) popular homemade personal-sized pizza night and enjoyed sitting on the expansive wrap around porch. After an extremely comfortable night's sleep in a four poster bed, we were able to make our own coffee and tea which is supplied by the host offered in a completely stocked guest kitchenette! (Right down to a mini fridge stocked with quick grab treats both sweet and savory!) Before hitting the road we were also served up with a warm freshly made breakfast sandwich to kick off our morning! Folks, if you are looking for a chance to step back in time to experience the exceptional service as well as an historical experience please take my advice and book in with Kevin and Carol! Believe me...it's a top notch experience and "worth the drive to...
Read moreThe folks at the Black Cat Cafe are terrific - friendly and chatty. Their personal pizzas on Friday evenings are really REALLY GOOD! Staff are sweet and efficient, it has a very laid-back, take-your-time atmosphere, even if you should just stop in for an ice cream, or a coffee, or a fresh fruit salad. Cookies, brownies and pastries too. The hotel has been meticulously returned to it's former glory, with much work done, and being done. It's just beautiful. You can sit at various lovely sitting areas in the garden, gorgeous flowers and shrubs everywhere. I hear they also have rooms to rent if you're travelling in the area, and that they are lovely, with all new fittings and fixtures. Our dog was welcomed in the garden on this hot, hot day, and given a fresh bowl of water. Give the Black Cat Cafe an hour or two stop along your travels - I highly...
Read moreA large group of us went to the Black Cat Cafe at Tamworth after a paddle on Mellon Lake. The cafe is located in the Tamworth Hotel and is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The food was inexpensive, and delicious, and the service was really fast and efficient! Their creative fruit drinks were awesone. Next time I'll try their coffee and ice cream. We loved sitting out on their beautiful verandah! Update: I had lunch at their cafe after a hike yesterday. The food was great again! They have finished renovating it into an upscale B&B. It would be a wonderful venue for a small wedding or other small event. I counted 34 seats in the dining room and there is lots more space on the verandah. They also have a huge parlor and a...
