Baselines Pub — Restaurant in Surrey

Additional edit: more than a year after this review, (summer 2025) and the owner of the pub stating that my review is the reason why service based businesses are failing, they still have not corrected their website.

After searching online and spending literally over an hour trying to find somewhere with a pool table, I found that baselines pub's website states:

"Our pool table is a place to have some fun while challenging your friends, when you're not playing Pull-tabs or keno."

Drive the half hour from north coquitlam to get there, only to be told that covid (2020, 3 years ago) they had to remove the pool table...

I understand it's the pretty nit-picky thing to leave a negative review on, but I literally drove across Metro Vancouver to use the pool table that they advertise they had, only to have to spend 20 minutes in their bar looking for a new place to go, that had a pool table... We left without making a purchase, because the only reason we were there, was false advertising. It's been 3 years, update your website maybe?

The staff was quite friendly, when we asked, but didn't seem to care that their website was inaccurate. When asked if there were any other pubs in the area with a pool table, we were told to drive to White Rock to their other location, 25 minutes away.

For a "Sports Bar" you would expect to come into a room full of TVs with lots of different sports, but this is the complete opposite. Decent amount of TVs but every single one of them had the same sport on! 2 American baseball teams playing when the local football team "BC Lions" was playing at the exact moment. We got our drink and food order decently fast, and at the same moment asked our waitress if she could turn on the Football game. Half hour passed, we got our chicken wings, had to wait another 10 mins for our nachos, which for items that are made quite fast took a bit to come out. After an hour of asking for the Football game to be turned on, she still hadn't turned even after a couple reminders. It's pretty sad how I had to turn the game on my phone at a Sports Bar of all places! The chicken wings were really good but wish I could say the same for our burnt nachos with beef that tasted like it was a couple days old. Pretty pricey here, $13 wings with 2 little pieces of celery, you can go to other pubs and get wings for half the price that include lots of celery/carrots or Fries. Nachos really expensive, $19 + $4 for beef. Improvements to this place would be to have faster service, employees that know Sports schedules and care about their customers, cheaper prices or at least include more with that high price. Today was ok, the food was good and the service was not the problem, it was busy that is understandable, the problem was even back before Covid I often to to go there on the last Fridays for the quicky lunch or the lingerie lunch and I was hoping the ladies or one of them would be talking to me if they wanted to but sadly not one of them ever talked to me, I don’t expect them to but it would’ve been nice if they did, they’ve mostly talked to same people a lot, that has been like that a few times I’ve gone there even before Covid although some did talked to me on other days so that was good, and since Covid showed up, well we all know how businesses were and even after they’ve reopened again, they’ve hadn’t brought back the quicky lunch or the lingerie lunch until now. After I decided to go there again on the last Fridays after they’ve brought it back, I really thought things would’ve been different this time but like before a few years ago, they’ve still hadn’t talked to me and I’ve stayed for over an hour an a half, it’s just not fair, the bartender (which I don’t know her name unfortunately but she seems nice) asked me if there’s anything ok and I did say I needed a bill as I’ve had stayed long enough and I had to go, I’ve could’ve said about the girls not talking to me but how could I, I didn’t want to makes...
