Always a little reluctant to dive in with gushing five-star dining ratings but I’ll make an exception in this case. First experience with Texas Smoke BBQ, (Potter’s Nursery location, off 192nd Street, Surrey) was exceptional. My wife, a brisket lover, was particularly impressed. She’s picky and an acknowledged foodie. Two thumbs up, she says. Probably would have added a third thumb up, if she had one. I had The Porker (pulled pork, coleslaw and barbecue sauce) and, together, we ordered smoked sausage and burnt ends to try. Enough for two very tasty meals. This location, one of three Texas Smoke food trucks, offered easy access from 192nd Street, lots of parking, picnic tables with patio umbrellas and fun activities, such as cornhole and Saskatchewan golf. But all of that is meaningless unless the food is first rate. It is. My wife thinks it would be so convenient to pick up a few pounds of brisket for an easy main dish for a summer meal. Throw in a few buns, some coleslaw, beer and wine and call it a picnic, dinner or a party. Open 11-7 from Thursday through Sunday. A fun and delicious alternative to...
Read moreMy wife and I go to Potter's garden shop in Surrey. Texas Smoke BBQ set up a food truck in the corner of the parking lot by a big field. They're only there thursday to Sunday. They have several picnic tables with a couple of throw games for kids or adults. Their menu is BBQ'd beef and pork and sausages. You can buy just meat for take home. They also have platters to share and also offer sides like baked beans, corn bread, and texas slaw. My wife and I were there for lunch, so she ordered brisket in a bun, and I had their texas cheesesteak sandwich. The sandwiches tasted awesome, and they were big. The meat melted in your mouth. Take extra napkins because it was quite juicy. Definitely recommend this Texas Smoke BBQ. Will try something else on the menu next time or buy some for take home. This Texas BBQ truck is just seasonal. They have their main...
Read moreI've been to a hundred bbq places across North America, highly rated Texas and Kansas joints included. Brother, this is up there with em. I highly recommend a pulled pork sandwich. A lot of places have the slaw too dry or have no flavor. There slaw compliments that beautiful saucy pulled pork like the Sedin Brothers compliment each other. My dog started drooling when we got within a country mile of this place. Staff was friendly, and there was plentiful outdoor seating and even some games to play. I beat my sister at cornhole, then ate like the champion I am. I am going to get married to the next girl I see just so I can have them cater my wedding. Five stars everywhere. My only complaint is that my stomach isn't bottomless, so my taste buds can bathe in the glory that is Texas Smoke BBQ for life. Cater my life Texas Smoke,...
