The Bennett Craft Kitchen — Restaurant in Surrey

My family and I have been coming here for nearly four years. We only come every Thursday for trivia with Alex. The food and service has always been amazing which is just an added bonus to Alex’s great trivia nights! We only come Thursday and have always only come Thursdays. We come for Alex not just because we want to come for dinner. Recently, he let us know they were switching trivia companies, which broke our hearts. We decided to give it a try a few weeks ago, it was awful! The host should be a radio dj not a trivia host, he talked way too fast and was so quiet we missed the questions. The topics were very unorganized and boring. There is no structure to his questions and the text in for a free beer is so stupid and distracting! The host guy came over after the first round to ask how we liked it and we were honest.. it’s not Alex and it’s not good! We actually left mid game because how much we were upset by it changing and we have never left before it’s over before !We are always a team that comes in first or second often and love to play the game fair and square. We WILL NOT be back and in fact will be heading to jimmy macks Tuesday nights to see Alex! ( even though that’s a 30 minute drive for us) We spend almost $150 there every week and we are happy to take that money else where ! We complained to our server and heard others tables complaining too. This was a terrible move on the ownerships part! Alex was a very likable guy and people came because he professionalism and enthusiasm brought such a great vibe and made our family game night! I would recommend you guys re thinking your decisions to cut costs and change your ways because it is going...

I had booked a reservation for 12 people in November, for a celebration in the middle of December. Out of nowhere nearly 2 weeks after making the reservation I received a voice mail telling me they were ‘bumping’ my reservation, but to feel free to rebook it on a different date. We had guests coming from out of town so we couldn’t rebook on a different date, and being December we couldn’t find another venue on such short notice. The Bennett was offhandedly apologetic and really acted like he couldn’t have cared less, not even offering any sort of compensation for destroying all of our set plans on such short notice. I was disgusted with his lack of consideration, especially as it is our neighbourhood pub and go there very regularly. After purchasing tickets online for the featured band and looking forward to having a fun dinner date, we were greeted with the question "Are you here for the band?" when we arrived. My tickets were scanned and we were left to fend for ourselves. There were no tables available, no room to access the bar, about 5 waitresses running around frantically, and 2 separate rooms where crowds of people stood waiting around. A dirty table opened after about 20 minutes of meandering around leading to being accosted by another patron who claimed she had been waiting an hour and a half for a table... needless to say, we left hungry without even being offered a drink by the time the 2nd song was over. 30$...
