While the event space was great, I especially disliked the management of Ciociaro Club. Donna was extremely rude to my parents and me. In our second meeting with her, when we were putting together the contract, she disrespected my parents several times. I would recommend that you avoid working with her at all costs.
She made comments about us "nickeling and diming" her when we asked her about the menu pricing. When she listed options for desserts and we picked ice cream, she started criticizing us in an aggressive manner and saying that the ice cream would melt. Well, then why was it even listed as an option on the menu in the first place? She had issues with me asking basic questions, like will the venue be able to provide tablecloths. In almost every third sentence, she either made a sarcastic comment or used an extremely aggressive tone speaking with us. Regardless of how poorly we were treated, we had to go with this option as our venue since our reception was fast approaching and we had limited options.
The cherry on top was when Ciociaro charged me $500 after my event was over, falsely claiming that my decorator didn’t come to clean up after the event was over. They claimed that the decorator didn’t show up until hours later the next day, and their staff was forced to clean up everything when all they did was remove some tablecloths. I received proof from my decorator showing that she contacted them multiple times and never heard anything back and when she did, they said it was okay for her to come in at a later time the next day (the next day was a holiday anyway). Regardless of this, they charged me $500 for the teardown.
Working with Donna was easily the worst experience of putting together my reception, especially dealing with an extremely rude attitude. I would recommend she learn a thing or two about customer service, but I guess that’s what happens to you when you work in spaces where people continue to excuse your poor behavior and...
Read moreWe rented out saloon C for our wedding reception in August of 2022 . The overall experience was mediocre at best. We had outside food brought in , in addition to the basic wedding package from ciociaro. The warmers for the punjabi food ( brought from an outside caterer ) were not turned on so all of the cultural food went cold quickly. As well staff were very slow to refill the buffet units when the cultural food ran out. So we had large amounts of food left over even though we under ordered to reduce food waste which is very disappointing.
They charged us for using the projector which we did not alongside the use of the bridal room ( they said that we lost the key when no one had given us a key in the first place) . There were drinks already in the room that someone had drank and the toilet was also not flushing. We opted not to use the room due to this.
There was no knife, plate or utensils provided to cut the cake ( my brother had to run around trying to find them from staff) and then the staff failed to move the cake to the desert table when asked multiple times by multiple people in the family. We threw the entire cake out because no one ate it due to it not being moved. We had gone with a baker that Donna had recommended, the cake itself was decent but not worth ordering again ( too much filling inside which was thick and the cake was dry )
Many of the tables were not cleared of drinks/ glasses which sat at tables throughout the night. As well the bar ran out of glass wear and was using plastic cups for drinks.
The communication with club itself was great leading up to the event however on the actual night service was lacking in a big way and was not expected because of the reassurances from those working the event planning side of things. I would not personally book another event there and I will also we letting others know to not book with this hall...
Read moreWe celebrated school grad here. Our grads chose pizza and chicken fingers and fries. I wasn't really impressed with the pizza. Other dough was very much like a focaccia bread, extremely thick, fluffy and a touch crispy at the edges with a small brushing of sauce of top then cheese and sparse toppings. With the high ratio of bread and such little sauce and toppings it was almost flavorless unfortunately and not very palatable. The chicken on the other hand was very good. It was tenders cut directly from chicken breasts with a light breading you could tell that were cut and breaded by hand. They were tender and tasty. The fries were alright. Everything was serviced buffet style and the fries seemed a touch undercooked. As the fries sat briefly and they got cold they got soggy and starchy again fairly quick. I feel they just needed to cook the fries a little longer and they would've turned out better. The most annoying part of the evening was that they divided 3 salons into 2 so they were A/B and B/C and then has salon A/B in control of the P.a. system for what would've been salon B and when we complained that the salon A/B ceremony was being heard in our salon B/C while we were supposed to be enjoying dinner and dancing we couldn't hear our own music just the graduates being announced next door for a whole hour+ while we ate.. They couldn't turn off the P.a. system to salon B at all because the controls were locked up and only the manager has access and the manager was gone for the night. Graduation is a night to remember that can't be replaced and it was a huge inconvenience to have an entire hour of silence and no dancing since we couldn't turn up the music until the ceremony next door was done announcing their grads. The school should get a discount for...
