The Outfitter Bar & Smokehouse — Restaurant in Temagami

Saw this place off the highway and thought it would be a nice place to try. Walk up to the doors and there are gas cans, life jackets and bunch of garbage sitting there. ( should have turned around) Walked into dining area and looked nice but decided to sit on patio seeing it was a nice day out. We both ordered a solo dinner. ( 1 protein, 2 sides. 26.00 each) ( i ordered brisket with baked beans and mac and cheese. Hubby had ribs with potato salad and Cucumber salad)with a starter of jalapeños hush puppies ( 12.00). Took about 30 mins to arrive. When our meals arrived we were alittle shocked on how small the meat portions were. 2 small slices of brisket which did not have a drop of juice in it. ( so dry) and 2 small ribs which were side ribs. The beans were uncooked, potato salad ..hmm not too sure what it really was. Cucumber salad tasted like they just made it ( need to marinate for couple hour's stiil) Mac and cheese was alright. The hush puppies, oil was not hot enough when put into deep fryer as they soaked up alot of the grease. Very disappointed in the food and way overpriced. Kinda dirty . Bathrooms digusting ..1 server was petting a customer's dog and went and did silverware without washing his hands, also had a cigarette behind his ear. ( very unprofessional and dirty) Have to find a new place to eat along that highway This could have been a gold...

Anyone who hasn’t tried this place is missing out. Absolutely nothing like it for 200km in both directions on HWY 11. Been eating in this area for over 30 years and this is hands down the best place I’ve ever had. Location is prime (patio is right on the water), every staff member we encountered was pleasant, friendly and kind and the drinks were unique and delicious. Now to the food…best brisket I’ve ever had. Ribs were next level as well. Between everyone at our table we basically had all the side on the menu and every single one was amazing. This is one of those places where they have a smaller than an average menu, but that allows them to perfect every dish on it. Huge portions, unreal sauces, awesome staff, tons of parking and overall great vibe. If you’re staying anywhere on lake Temagami, you can boat right to the front door. They even allow dogs on the patio. This place is the hidden gem of Temagami….do yourself a favour...

I wish we read past reviews as we may have second guessed our decision to go here. Saturday of the long weekend on a beautiful day and they had no beer and quite a few items not available on their menu which we weren't even told upfront. Tacos and brisket were dry, hush puppies were hard to bite and dry they were so overcooked. We have 2 young kids so thankfully the mac n cheese was good but wasn't a cheap bill . However to top it off, the bathrooms were disgusting and from reading past reviews, they have been for awhile. 1 door was locked and 2 were clogged and overflowing. To top it off, soap in the ladies bathroom I'm fairly sure was men's shower gel considering the smell. Really disappointed considering the great...
