June 7th 2025 - First Visit
TL;DR - The food was good and the portions were large. The service was the absolute best - Kendall was a fantastic server. The atmosphere was good but a wee bit loud. Note: it was very busy and the acoustics (high ceilings) bounce conversations around - thus it's slightly difficult to have a conversation without raising your voice. The booth was comfortable and spacious. Everything was very clean.
Food: I wasn't hungry, so I had a fried egg and some toast. It was good. The on-site made strawberry jam was great! It was just like my mom's 'Strawberry Freezer Jam'. I forgot to buy a jar before I left.
My friend had pancakes and bacon. She enjoyed every bite.
My husband had pancakes, eggs, bacon, homefries...I can't remember what else but he had a massive plate full and he said he enjoyed it.
Service: Kendall's customer service is stellar. She was attentive, helpful with suggestions and has a warm and welcoming nature. Kendall's friendly personality helped make our first impressions of the restaurant very positive. Stacked is VERY lucky to have her. I would hire her to work for my business in a heartbeat. Note: I managed a restaurant in Ottawa in the 90s - if only all of my servers were like her - my life as a manager would have been a lot easier.
Atmosphere: The restaurant was very clean. The booth was comfortable and spacious. I didn't feel like I was 'trapped'. Acoustics are a bit much due to everyone's voices bouncing off the high ceilings. But there isn't much they can do about that. The next time I visit, I'll try a quieter day/time of the week. Saturday mornings at 10 am seem to be very busy and we were lucky to get a table.

Thankfully prices aren’t at Allo Mon Coco or Cora level. Constantly busy and I suggest going onto their wait list online before going.
I’ve been twice and the first time the cafe mocha drink made me sick (I’ve had mocha before and didn’t have this experience). This time I had tea instead and wasn’t sick afterwards. I don’t think they can legally call their whipped cream “whipped cream” as it’s very oily and more on par with cool whip. Pictured is the NY Blueberry Cheesecake stacked pancakes which are more blueberry pancakes than anything else as they don’t add enough of the other toppings. I had the Biscoff Pancakes the previous time which I preferred. It’s decent food, somewhat like the other trucker diners in the area. Don’t get the home fried as they taste strange with whatever they cook them in.
Staff I can’t complain about because they are doing their best with how many guests they have to deal with. They still come by and ask how everything is. The previous time, the waitress even looked after us in terms of making sure the eggs were cooked properly before they made it...

They clearly bought it in one of those big frozen bags and just squeezed it out. That would be ok I guess if it was actually thawed when they served it to us. Got a nice avocado ice cube. The whipped ”cream” was that super oily stuff that is anything but actual cream.. just whipped oil with sugar in it. Leaves a film in your mouth. And my personal favourite - this PANCAKE SHOP doesn’t serve real maple syrup. They have a jug of corn syrup on the table for the dishes their shop is named after.. in northern Ontario no less - as Canadian as you can get. I asked the waitress if they have real maple syrup, and she said they do, but it’s not advertised and it’s a big upcharge.
Service was ok.. she was clearly inexperienced but she did what she could.
Went back the next morning just for some coffee, and my hot drink was served in a glass cup.. like a standard cold drink cup without a handle or any heat insulation to protect my hands.. filled maybe 60% of the way. We figured it out at $1.50 per sip of...
