As someone who’s grown up having authentic italian dishes for the last 26 years, I am always hesitant to visit italian restaurants because it “just won’t compare,” but my god, this place blew my mind. The staff was immediately welcoming and warm, hanging our coats, bringing us water and menus immediately. We did make a reservation (for2) as it was recommended on the site, and the small but cozy family restaurant filled up fast on a Tuesday evening. Had a glass of the house red wine, which was elegant as hell but there was also a generous selection of italian classics to choose from. The menu was overwhelming only because every dish I read made a little more drool drip out the corner of my mouth unnoticed. We went with the Caesar Salad and Garlic Parmesan Loaf to start (I shed a tear when it came) and the Fettuccini Alfredo and New York Strip w/ veggies for our mains. Wow. I don’t even remember chewing anything. The steak was tender and cooked to perfection; the veggies were fresh and seasoned elegantly, while the pasta was clearly handmade fettuccini and melted in your mouth like butter. The pancetta on top tasted like Christmas morning. The loaf and salad were basic dishes but carried so much flavour I was barely able to hold a conversation while I viciously shovelled all this incredible food in my mouth in a matter of minutes. Overall, I would like to extend my warmest regards to this family who have created the true essence of what it means to eat an Italian meal- feeling welcome, warm and most of all happily waddling to your car afterwards, with a box of pistachio ricotta cannolis, already planning your next trip back.

Such an amazing spot! Come for the stromboli, leave with new friends. Fresh pasta and flatbreads make this Dorchester hot spot a sure thing! Have dined at this gem since they opened and have enjoyed every meal like it was a grand opening. They take pride in their dishes and service. Exceptional fresh pasta and flat bread, all made in house. Today we tried the Spinach dip with delish puffs of awesomeness, and some of the freshest calamari I've had in ages. I had the tenderloin Casarecce, such a perfect blend of steak and pasta. My daughter had the high end Perch and Chips, fries and light batter to die for. My wife had the chicken caeser salad. House reds are Italian masterpieces. I finished with Pistachio Gelato. Perfect meal. Thanks folks for keeping a constant we can count on.

We've been here 4-5 times over the years. The service is always fantastic, and we've never had a bad meal. It's usually our first choice for date night. I try to have something different each time, but my fiancee always orders the chicken parm. It's his favourite meal and he says that it's the best in the area. It's a small restaurant that is always busy, so make sure to book a reservation!

Wow! We had such a delicious dinner last night. Thank you Chef and Owner Dino and thank you to your Chefs that made our meals. My husband and I order take out from Fat Olive every other week, they have such good quality meals, we want them to still be around once we are on the other side of Covid. I ordered my favourite: Chicken Parmesan. It is a generous portion of lightly coated chicken breast x2, (with tasty crispy edges🤤) topped with a lovely homemade tomato sauce, delicious stretchy cheese AND a side of homemade pasta, oh my! My husband ordered the Fat Meatball AND Italian Meat Lovers Stromboli. Needless to say he was full after the homemade Fat Meatball, it comes with a generous portion of homemade sauce and side of homemade crostinis, he said it would make for a perfect lunch too! (now this is another one of his favourites🙂).

The best part, we have plenty of leftovers for another meal, woohoo! If anyone in the area is looking for a great quality take out meal, this is the place! They offer a variety of delicious meals for lunch and dinner, prices are very reasonable and portions are always very generous, did i mention homemade??? All their pastas are also made in house🤤 They are now making homemade burgers, whaaaat??? 😲 can't wait to try them! Fat Olive...

We enjoy supporting local eateries! We tried The Fat Olive today. Clean, contemporary atmosphere where you can watch them prepare your food! It's small and quaint! Service was great, friendly and helpful. CEASAR SALAD was delicious BRUSCHETTA was a bit dry but tasty(could have used a bit more balsamic vinegar). RIGATONI had good flavour but the pasta could have been cooked a bit longer. It was not el dente, but tough! FETTUCCINE ALFREDO comes with tasty panchetta, I added shrimp. It had great flavour, the right amount of shrimp added, but the pasta was over cooked, even mushy. PRICE ... $71.00 oh yes, we each had ice tea as beverages. I'll let you be the judge. It's not a place we can afford on a regular basis, but for a girls night out or friendly get together with good food and good service, it compares to some of...
