Neebing Roadhouse — Restaurant in Thunder Bay

I took my crew out for a meal on Friday March 1 2024 and , as a business owner, was appalled by the terrible staff.

When we arrived, the restaurant was mostly empty with a few patrons at the bar. I counted 6 staff within the bar area, none of which were interested in their costumers.

The entire time we were there, the staff chatted about 1 young man's trip to Mexico and another young man who just started in the kitchen and how "cute" he was.

The bar staff left my employees drink run out twice, the steak on 1 guy's salad was very overcooked and unfortunately no one bothered to ask how we were progressing or how our meal was until we were done.

When we were ready to pay my employee had to raise his voice to be heard over the gossiping that was going on between the staff.

If I were running this business I would consider firing all front of house staff that were working that night or stagger their shifts so they don't work together (at the very least).

Okay portion size and the pasta was okay. Burger was extremely dry, mixed drink had Zero alcohol and 1/2 ice, service was very lacking.

We ordered some wings to start and the waitress said both "Classic" and Dusted" were on special, and we ordered the "Dusted". 15 minutes later another waitress comes and tells us only the "Classic" were on sale and asked if we wanted the "Dusted or Classic". Rather than pay more than twice the price we said the "Classic" was fine. One minute later they brought out the "Dusted" and said they would give it to us at the sale price. I know it takes more than a minute to make wings, so the only possibility here is that they screwed up, tried one last time to get us to pay for their mix-up and were too lazy to re-make them.

All in all it was just a bad dining experience. I'm sure there are better options much...

What an amazing little hidden gem in Thunder Bay! Went for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting traditional roadhouse premade, frozen food but from what I ate, it tasted totally made in house. I had the jumbo stuffed yorkie served with mashed potatoes. The yorkie was well cooked, not mushy or heavy. The beef was tender and tasty not that watery flavour like it's been sitting in water for hours and the potatoes were real homestyle mashed. The beer selection was good, a fair number of domestic and craft on tap and many more in bottles and cans. The cheesecakes served to the next table looked devine. The crowd was very mixed and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. In different times it looks like they would have a lot of fun on the beach volleyball court. Definitely a place...
