We tried visiting Station 22 this past Saturday evening, but the place was packed ! That's always a good sign. This review is based on our visit from two weeks ago. Station 22 is a very cool venue for micro-brewed beers, and good wholesome food, including pizzas , hamburgers, etc. It's not gourmet dining by any means, but the food quality, ambiance, and bonus arcade games in the corner are all very adequate for a fun night with friends. For non-beer lovers, there's even a choice of red or white wine. I sampled the white, and it was quite good . Our pizza was very tasty, with cheese, basil, and mushrooms. I took off one star for service, because you have to go up to the food and beverage counter to order. All in all, a welcome addition to Thunder Bay's food scene, and congrats to Andrew Stone for setting it up. (He's one of Thunder Bay's top chefs previously cooking at Daytona's) If you've been to Daytona's for breakfast, lunch or dinner, you'll appreciate his culinary talents at Station 22. Read moreBy far the worst pizza in Thunder Bay. Appears to have the cheapest brick cheese dropped all over it. Its just one big clump on cheese , with a little bit of nasty sauce under it.
Pizza barely touched thr oven . You get a better pizza at an arcade or a grade school cafeteria. If it was 10 bucks , it's what I'd expect. Not for $25 for a pep and " cheese " .
The chicken caesar wrap is just what looks and tastes like a prechewed wrap. No crispy lettuce , or bacon . No chunks of parm or sauce. It's all just blended together like a chicken salad. And hot , so the lettuce is absolutely heinous. Also way over priced at $15, the wrap is all of 6" and the ingredients are minced.
If I could give this place a negative star rating , I would. Goto Lento's pizza , same building ( inside golf on the links) FAR FAR...
Read moreThis food vendor is in the same building as the brewery - so you can have lunch and beers. we stopped here as the location was close to our hotel.
The food order was taken quickly. The shop has paper and virtual menus.
We got a Chicago hotdog, chicken wings and a sweet north pretzel. The wings were a bit scrawny, but well cooked and coated in my choice of sauce. The buffalo sauce was not too hot, mild in fact, OK. The pretzel was large and warm with mustard dipping sauce. My wife and I enjoyed it.
The portions were good, and we enjoyed lunch in town.
I...
