Grill Gate — Restaurant in Toronto

I am writing this comment after reading a brave consumer graded GRILL GATE with a single ⭐. When I first met the owner of GRILL GATE, I was of the impression that i was communicating with the true owner, I was mistaken, I discovered later he was assisting the true owner. This person owns & operates a FOOD TRUCK identified as ROAD GRILL. This person, single handedly occupied front counter & appeared sincere as he addressed himself as owner of GRILL GATE. This person identified himself as “black horse" (that’s his real name is farsi) I did request for his permission to have all my purchases at his restaurant total no more than $5, since all that was any good was either PHILLI CHEESE or HAMBURGER and since Grill Gate posted a sign advertising their burger for $3.79 with purchase of fries and drink) I figured I am over paying if I pay more. All I wanted was to share my idea's for serving the public with quality food made with fresh ingredients within dining room presented with welcoming climate. However, the owner wanted nothing to do with my idea's fore the owner prefered serving the public with Costco’s-ready-made-fries and also prefered to season raw meat with dry synthetic ingredients (artificial dry spices enriched with artificial color) On my 3rd visit & still only paying $5 dollars for either philly cheese or hamburger, after placing my order, clearly obvious my visits were becoming undesirable, my ideas were not favored but at least I could image "sometimes U wana go where everybody knows ur name & there always glad U came", sit in peace & zone out for $5. one evening, as I was finishing my meal & the TRUE-OWNER (not black horse) & OF WHOM I IMMAGED AS CO-WORKER (THIS PERSON DRIVEs [prior knowledge] two door CONVERTABLE Black MERCEDES BENZ E CLASS & he is the TRUE ONWER of grill gate) took a seat across from me & began telling me a story of how he had recently suffered an illness that caused fever like symptoms, i.e. diarrhea, chills & vomiting. I was wondering why he would say such things while I am still not finished eating. Later that night I began coughing & eventually the coughs turned so bad that I started gasping for air during my coughing spells; (medical term for this condition called; whopping cough) I contacted BLACK HORSE via INSTAGRAM (IG) & advised him that the beef might be tainted & that he should change MEAT-supplier from (COSTCO) to ZAMINI, BLACK HORSE illustrated nil concern & replied, "why do you keep coming back if you get sick?" IMPLIES total disregard to human life, security of person which is guaranteed by S.7 of this Charter & THE RIGHT NOT TO BE DEPRIVED THEREOF. In the beginning i was of the impression (assumed owner black horse) was being supportive, compassionate by agreed & offered ($5 for the purchase of philli cheese or burger) being that my fanancial status being poor & sharing similar nationality (both of us born in IRAN)... I was wrong, I was offered cruelty under appearance of pity. Unsuspectingly, I took the bait presented in the form of "counterfeit compassion". As my frequent visits became increasingly undesirable, the TRUE OWNER had to underhandedly dissuade my attendance at GRILL GATE this was when TRUE OWNER decided to add "his secret sauce" to my burger & (contaminated my dinner). TRUE OWNER assumed he was clever, TRUE OWNER imagined he could DIVERT SUSPICION OF MALICE by intentionally inserted confusion as he knew by his hand i would fall ill being the reason he concocted said story of his own recent suffering as explained after seated across from me, recent experience as expressed fever like symptoms i.e. diarrhea, chills & vomiting so I wont figure out from where & how if I fall ill did the illness originate; IN CLOSING To whom U give UR money is to whom U give UR power, people with a mind like the one used by the TRUE OWNER of GRILL GATE do not deserve to remain in business & very easily should be put out of business, withdrawing support by INVESTING your...

The first time I went to Grill Gate I was impressed It was pretty good. Only downfall was they used process Kraft cheese slices on their burgers. Being a high quality burger you’d think they’d use “real cheddar” So now to my 2nd visit. This is where it all goes downhill. I arrive with two of my workmates. Try both order the garlic fries which you can’t go wrong. They use the basic frozen crispy fries which aren’t bad but it’d be nice to see home it real fries. So I order the cheese burger. While I’m sitting there waiting my two friends are eating their fries. I glanced over at the guy cooking the food and he literally licked his two fingers to grab paper or something then grabbed food. I was so disgusted I yelled!!! “ hey buddy what are you doing!!!!” The woman said what’s wrong? I told her and she basically shrugged it off. And tried to convince me he wasn’t touching food etc. so I give them the benefit but now I’m weary and grossed out. So my burger comes. Nothing special. It’s the bun that’s good and makes the burger. The last two bites I come across a small piece of bone I. The meat. Grossed me right out !!! So now I’m really turned off the burger even if it is half decent.

So it comes time to pay. I have it out with the lady again telling her he should be wearing g gloves anyway and not touching food with his bare hands. So my burger comes to $8.85 so my change should be $1.15. She gives me a loony. Now I’m not grilling over the money but you’d think after a complaint like that they’d comp me or give me a discount. Nope she short changed me. I told her I will never come back. She didn’t seem to care which is fine. Her loss because the three of us would’ve been regulars. So next morning one of the guys that was there with me when I had this experience said his boss day went that evening and caught her touching money with gloves on then going and handling the food with the same gloves. Unbelievable!!!! If anybody knows anything,money is the dirtiest thing out there. Absolutely disgusting. Whether the good is good or not the two of them need to take a course in safe food handling. Either way all 3 of us have made the decision to never go back even if it is ok food. So buyer beware. Hopefully nobody gets sick from their unsafe food handling

Will never come back! Especially since there are so many great places in this city to eat. You’ll never see our faces...

Its rare to eat a memorable burger. This is one of the few places that managed it. I got a basic double cheeseburger and my god. There was only the sounds of moaning and chewing until it was gone. The grilled cheese on the patties was genius and the aioli... i dont know whats in it but i could drink it straight. That was a next-level, god-tier burger. The problem with this place, as ive ordered 4 times now, is that it seems to suffer from inconsistency. The next time I ordered the same burger, it was a farcry from the first. No grill on the cheese, patties were dry, bread was stale, aioli was still amazing, but i had to check to make sure i didnt screw up the order, or got it from a different place. That first burger was so good that ive tried to get it 2 more times after the second, and unfortunately, i need to report that they are batting 1 for 4. I almost cant fault them, which is why i gave it a 4 star still... that first burger was so good that i will certainly try again. Whoever cooked that burger, find them and destroy anything good they have in their life until they are forced to abandon their endeavours and return to the grill in which they most dubiously cursed. ...
