Absolutely terrible experience. I finished work on new years eve and decided to get pizza delivered to my place so I could enjoy some good food to ring in the new year. When I finished ordering on uber eats, I had been charged, but it said that it was now closed, but that I would have my food delivered between 8PM and 8:30PM. I was confused, so I decided to stop by the restaurant on Greenwood where I had ordered from and figure out what was going on. I waited for about 20 minutes to finally talk to someone about my order, and he told me that they weren't taking any more orders on Uber eats, but I told him that I had been charged and on the app it showed that it would be delivered between a certain time. He didn't have an answer to that so he called someone else over and he also proceeded to tell me the exact same thing, to which I showed him my Uber eats order and he said it must have been a glitch but he only had 3 orders on Uber eats and my name wasn't one of them. He told me that I would be refunded. I was pretty disappointed with the lack of understanding for this mistake, and instead of doing something about it just waved me away and said I would be refunded. As I was leaving, I decided to just order anyway while there, and wait and then just Uber home so my food wouldn't get cold. I had to wait another 20 minutes or so while others pushed in and tried to get their orders, and right before I got to speak to the same first gentleman I spoke to, I received an email from Uber eats confirming my order. So when I spoke to them again, I showed them that now I have an email confirming that I have an order, to which the second guy I spoke to then reloaded his list and it showed my name, and he repeated what I had ordered and he was like "oh okay no worries man, we have the order now", and I responded with saying it's okay if it arrives a bit later, but as long as I received it, and he replied "it says between 8PM-8:30PM, we'll have it to you then". I said okay great, and left happy. Got home, and was checking the Uber eats app for updates, and around 720PM, it showed that my order was being worked on and that the estimated arrival was 8PM. Around 740PM, it showed as estimated arrival 8:10PM. Then, at 7:55PM, it was showing that estimated arrival was 8:20PM, and then next minute it said "oops, you're order was canncelled and cannot be fulfilled ".
To make matters worse, the only reason I stopped at the restaurant is because on my way home, I tried calling 6 times, and nobody answered. Then, when my order was cancelled by them, I called another 10 or more times trying to figure out what was going on, and nobody answered. Luckily, I was able to order from somewhere else before they closed. The fact that this place couldn't have been less prepared for new years eve is disappointing, and I will never be ordering from there again. Can't tell you how the food was because they didn't make any for me even though they confirmed and told me I'd get my pizza later...

Food: the five of us tried four different pizzas Saturday evening. They were all delicious and came piping hot with a crunchy crust and chewy dough. My personal thoughts here:
Killer Bee: essentially a hot and honey pizza. I really liked the less cooked(?) jalapeños they put on to give it a kick. 4/5
Kale and bacon: my second favourite pizza of the evening as the chunks of smoky bacon cut through the delicious crispy, bitter kale. It may not be your thing if you don’t like kale but if you like kale chips as I do, go for it. 4.5/5
Pepperoni: can’t go wrong with the classic - they do it very well here. 4.5/5
Truffle shuffle: my favourite of the evening - I’m usually skeptical of any truffle pizza as other places drench their pies in oil. Here, their za used a truffle cream, so it’s not overwhelming - more like a pesto-based pizza that’s able to blend in with a creaminess but distinct truffle taste and can hang out with the other cool toppings. The umami flavours were high. 5/5
Drinks: we ordered a mix of cocktails (spicy margaritas, boluevardier) and beers (tap and bottled/cans). Drinks were recommended to us and were great. 4.5/5
Service: Jason was an awesome host. His energy was infectious, was funny and approachable and he made sure we were taken care of. Not sure how he handled serving the entire place by himself but gotta give the man props. 6/5
Vibe: warm, dark and cozy - with some picnic table settings and smaller tables with chairs. The basement had a foosball table and shuffle board that we wanted to try but it was close to closing time by the time we were done. 4/5
Glad to have finally tried NBP! The Greenwood location was awesome and I’ll...
Read moreI’m a downtowner and have long been a loyal patron of Brooklyn’s Palmerston location for in-car covid picnics ( because I like my pizza so hot you can barely separate the slices ) but tonight decided to venture a little further a field after having read the Toronto Life article about their new location on Greenwood. What a great idea, a dine in grown-up restaurant with the same fabulous food, plus, pull up a chair, the best wings I have EVER had! Try to imagine the best duck confit as a chicken wing, juicy, with crispy paper thin skin and flavour that suggests its feet were actually on the ground at some point. Amen. Not only do they serve beer but they have an impressively curated wine list, with a Lambrusco! The perfect pairing for pizza and wings, hi/lo. My dinner companion and I settled into a double table with a lovely view of the cozy room and the bar that was just big enough for all the food we ordered. They’ve chosen great chairs, a reissue of a Jean Prouvé side chair with comfortable black lacquered moulded plywood wood seats, and everything else is simple natural wood with an inherited old refinished wood floor. Just the right note, nothing ‘too try’. Perfect.
We were met by Jason, who has a high energy affable charm that led me to believe, since he is the man in the middle of the Totonto Life pic, that he was a co- owner, but he corrected me that he was not, however he certainly could be. Hiring the right staff is as tricky as the menu and the kitchen and in this case it’s a home run all around. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the budino to complement their perfect coffee, but the wings will get me...
