I know this restaurant is under new management and the reviewes seemed good so wanted to give it a try. I ordered the House Special Chow Mein and Combo B.
I went in to place my order as neither their online menu nor their websited indicated what was included in the House Special Chow Mein. What a mistake. It seems they were pushing Uber Eats and Door Dash orders ahead of those who walked in to order. I ordered my food at 7:16pm. When I placed my order I was given no warning it would take more the standard time. after 30 minutes I asked for an update and was told another 10 to 15. When I checked again at 7:30 ( a whole 45 minutes later), she was surprised I hadn't received my food. I received my food at 8:45pm. No lie.
The food was absolutely terrible. The only thing that was somewhat enjoyable was the egg roll. Actually that was pretty good. The chicken fried rice was just okay. The sesame chicken was drowned in some red non-descript sauce with a flavour that I could not discern. The chow mein had no BBQ pork in it as I was told it would and the taste I cannot place, it was not good. The beef with vegetables was not good either.
The staff were nice (?). They were completely overwhlemed. There was a lot of yelling in their own language (you could tell they were stressed - this kept up the entire time I was there). They seemed to be confused by what was coming out of the kitchen and had trouble sorting out orders. They would completely ignore people inquiring about the status of their orders but one person did apologize for the delay and indicated that this was new for them. He offered a pop as thank you for your patience.

Read moreI’ve ordered quit a few times from Mings. There are some items they do well, and other items, not so much. If you are really keen on giving them a try, I suggest trying a few items you are interested and if you are happy with those dishes, make them your go-to. In my experience, it has been a trial and error process.
For example, I have reordered dishes I originally liked and unfortunately the consistency isn’t always there. For instance, I will never order their crispy ginger beef again. The first time I ordered, I loved it. The second time I ordered it, it was barely edible.
Other items, like their chicken katsu, edamame, California rolls, have been pretty solid. Their fried rice is just meh for me.
I appreciate they have their own delivery person and delivery is free for orders over $30. Their menu items are reasonably priced, and the portion sizes they give are quite impressive.
For now, I will continue to order the items I feel confident in.
However, if they fall short on consistency in the future, I will be shopping for a new restaurant for my...
