⭐☆☆☆☆ Very Disappointed After Years of Loyalty I’ve been a loyal customer of Chakula Tamu for over 8 years and have consistently supported their business, often spending over $300 per visit. However, I recently had a very disappointing experience that left me feeling unappreciated and disrespected. While shopping as usual, I accidentally knocked over a tin of Blue Band due to the crowded shelf arrangement. The bottom broke, and I immediately apologized. To my surprise, the staff member insisted that I pay for it - the full price of approximately $20. I tried to explain that it was a genuine accident, and I expected a bit of understanding, especially given my long history as a customer. Instead, I was told, "We are a small business, let us share," and was still charged 18$ I was shocked by the lack of customer care. After years of shopping here, I never imagined being treated this way over a single item - especially when I was already spending a significant amount that day. The attitude of the staff member and the decision to charge me left a very bitter impression. I’m truly disappointed and saddened by the experience. Loyalty and good customer relationships should go both ways. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend Chakula Tamu to others, as it’s clear there is little regard for long-time customers. So I purchased silver fish (mukene) on 12th of this month and today as I was getting ready to.prepare this dish , tiny maggots where coming out of the bag. I immediately threw the fish out called the store and this one lady I spoke with was very professional, empathized with me and so understanding Viola. I asked when will they be back in stock, the lady working there on that evening was extremely difficult to ask questions. She gave me this nasty attitude that was uncalled for. I kept asking questions and she appeared to be uninterested in replying to my questions. On Friday, November 8, I returned to tge store with a smile and there she go again with her nasty atitude.
