Primo Pizza & Donair — Restaurant in Town of Gibbons

Apparently customer service isn’t a thing anymore??? I ordered a super donair with extra cheese and fries. I asked that my onions and mushrooms be grilled with my donair meat which they normally grill the meat anyways? I’ve asked for this before and it’s never been a problem. I was told they couldn’t be grilled. I asked… why? Is the grill broke? The girl said no, the cook just said he won’t grill them??? That makes no sense? What does it take to add a few onions and mushrooms while your grilling the meat? I said business must be doing real good that a very simple request can’t be met??? Needless to say, I cancelled my order and took my business else where. I’m glad they can afford to lose customers over something simple and rest assured I won’t give them an opportunity to disappoint again. My son and I stopped in here on a Sunday afternoon while touring Gibbons. The place looked great inside, very clean, and comfortable. We ordered our food and sat down and watched some afternoon hockey on 1 of the many TVs inside. We were the only people in the restaurant at the time so we assumed that our food would have been up quickly, but was surprised that it took a while to make. My son ordered a hotdog and I ordered the mushroom burger. My son said the hotdog tasted good but the bun was kinda hard. (Possibly toasted...he didn’t say). I give the mushroom burger a 7.5 out of 10. It was a typical frozen patty but the mushroom sauce made up for that. I would most likely come back for it again. This is my favorite place to grab a bite in Gibbons. I've stopped in here and there since they first opened as "Flames". It's always nice to be surprised by quality food in a small town like this. Their Donairs beat most places I've tried in the edmonton area, and it's one of the only donair spots I've eaten at where you don't feel like you're gambling if you try something other than a donair. I've had their burgers, wings, and pizza on several occasions and they were all very good for the price! They are also willing to venture outside of Gibbons for delivery.
