Lil-T's Cafe — Restaurant in Trail

The first thing I noticed once seated at Lil-T's cafe was how filthy the window was by my table. The second thing I noticed was the hearty layer of dust and crumbs on the window sill. Thirdly, the ragged door mat and floor were far too dirty considering I walked in five minutes after opening. None the less I ordered French toast with ham hoping the food would be better than the diner's cleanliness. I was wrong. The toast was dry as though not properly saturated in the batter. It was also bland for there was nothing I could taste other than eggs and milk. A standard French toast dip would have at least a little cinnamon and vanilla. Not even was there icing sugar on top as promised in the menu. The ham was overcooked and also dry. Another thing I noticed was that the syrup put on the tables was in bottles about 1 liter. As I observed breakfast service I saw that these bottles contained various levels of syrup, which implies the bottles that were used by someone else is now going to be on your table. If I am correct this is a violation of BC health codes. I mean seriously, you will have no idea who the last person was that used it. Was the person sick? Did he touch the rim of the bottle? Did he sneeze or cough with the open bottle in front of him? You will never know..., but you can be sure that if practices are this bad in the front of the diner, the kitchen will not be any better. I will be reporting Lil-T's to the local health authority and most definitely do not recommend that you eat here until the filth is thoroughly cleaned and proper practices...

AVOID AVOID AVOID Absolutely appalled. Disgusting. Getting to the restaurant the waitress squashed a bee on the table. Ordered toast with the breakfast was given one peanut butter pack with about a teaspoon of jam in a little tiny cap size container. Cheap powder chocolate milk. Waitress blew her nose and without washing her hands, served my fiance her food. Waiting for my food already unimpressed, watched the "cook" touch raw bacon without washing her hands after. And then wiped her face and then use her same bare hand to touch toast and potatoes on the grill.. I brought it to attention and she just laughed. No apologies or anything. We left. And will NEVER return. Absolutely gross. Very unhygienic. Not even offered a simple apology. Also still paid full price for what we ordered. Microwaved package hollandaise sauce....

All we can say is don’t do it! We really hoped we would find a quaint spot for breakfast. This was not it. As others have said it’s filthy and the cook digging through the freezer in the dinning area didn’t help either. We ordered the 2 door coup which says is comes with hash browns, 40 minutes later when they brought our food with no hash browns the server asked if we wanted hash browns!!?? When I said I thought it came with them she said yes do you want hand cut or shredded? I asked if I had to wait for them to be cooked she said yes….I said no. We ate our dry toast and lukewarm omelette and left. BTW all the drinks come in cans, the water taste like the river, but I hear the coffees good, but they won’t tell you what kind it is😂 That’s another story, well we had a good laugh because what...
