Cantine D'Amours — Restaurant in Trois-Pistoles

Stopped in here on way back home (coming from out east). Quaint little diner in a small French town with a very comforting old-fashioned feel. Staff are welcoming (be forewarned as french is what is commonly spoken here). Menus are in French Good old-fashioned Quebecois food. Had a cheese burger and poutine w/ sauce merguez (spicy sauce), and it was really good! Service was quick, and prices are reasonable to high for what it is. It was really the atmosphere that was something special. Locals, tourists, all in a small diner, having comfort food. Definitely want to go back again for that - and try...

Finally a place where the fries are cooked perfectly, giving you a crunch and smooth taste of potato.

We've ordered poutines but everything seems awesome there.

The atmosphere is similar to an old diner style. They could've surfed this diner vibe so hard and created a space where you feel like your traveling back into the 60s but they didn't...or just didn't realize.

The ultimate classic poutine. We opted for dine-in service and it was prompt and friendly. I got the regular poutine and my friend opted for the poutine Italienne (meat sauce gravy and melted curd à la Parma. “Demi-taille” (half size) was enough for each of us. Make sure to order dessert before the kitchen closes (8pm most days) as we unfortunately missed out but look forward to returning...
