Truro Big Stop Restaurant — Restaurant in Truro

Today my husband, my daughter, 2 friends and myself sat down to eat at the bigstop. The Service was somewhat good. Our waiter was friendly. It took 25 -30 minutes to get our food. By this time my daughter was restless and was wandering around the restaurant. ( not even 3 years old ) This seemed to not disturb any people eating yet it seemed to bother one particular worker as she continued to role her eyes at me and my daughter. My daughter came around the corner returning from the rest room when she almost ran into this women. I told my daughter to say excuse me and she did. Yet another eye roll is what we received. One of my friends could hear this women talking about us when I was in the bathroom with my daughter. It's bad enough to talk about someone who is just trying to eat at a family restaurant but don't even have the curtesy to wait until we all leave if you have to be so rude. I know my child's not the only person who gets restless while waiting 30 minutes. My daughter left with her father and had her food packed up since we were made so uncomfortable. My food was cooked, and my server was friendly and made sure that i had some sort of desert to take home for my daughter. but I will not be back to this restaurant. Horrible horrible horrible service , me and my daughter go there before one day because we know some waitress from Jungle Jim is working there now that's why we go try ..yes we meet a waitress from jungle Jim's we are very happy .and yesterday my daughter want to go again ...omg when we walk in have 2 waitress stand at the counter talking and just give me a look and other waitress is stand by the pop machine and she do the same thing just give us a look and 2 min later one more waitress come out from the kitchen and she just give us a look too and after she just talking to the waitress stand by the pop machine , and I go to asking the one stand by the counter ( are you guys still open?) she tune around and give me dirty look , say yes of course we are open we are busy you only come here for couple minute I saw you come in , I say well so we just seat by myself or what ? And The Waitress say do you see the sigh you have to wait for the service , and really unhappy to take a menu and tell me the sit down , I don't feel welcome I don't feel I am a customer that's why I left , we always go Jungle Jim's before two three times a week , we never have that kind of service before , it's really disappointed we have to search around to find a good place to go now I wish the restaurant owner...

Overall the food was ok. I ordered liver and onions with bacon and never got bacon with my order. Had to ask about it and then had to wait while they microwaved a couple pieces for me. Yes they where microwaved, I do know the difference. On top of that the only reason my fries where hot is because of the hot gravy on them. The fries where not freshly cooked for the meal like they should be but where probably cooked earlier and let stand until the next order came in. Not acceptable in my books. I was so hungry that I just ate the food but did mention it to the staff member serving us. Didn't seem liked he cared about it as far as I am concerned. The girlfriend had the hot turkey dinner and everything was hot and delicious except for the carrots that where a little on the cold side as she said. Rather disappointed with this as I am very surprised that this was like this. They where not even busy either. Only about 5 tables where being served. Still after all this the liver and onions where the best I have had in awhile. Going to Digby next week so will have to give them a...
