Beautiful, underused facility with excellent aerobic classes and state of the art swimming facilities. Very expensive yearly, monthly and daily drop in access fees to the point of being prohibitive for many.
Facility membership policies are antiquated and inflexible. Management is hostile and closed to hearing out and to addressing their client's point of view on management related issues.
We purchased two separate monthly family passes last summer for a good amount of money. We mainly use the children's pool and sometimes the rock climbing wall when we are here. When we purchased the second pass we were not made aware that the pool would be closed for almost 2 weeks of the time frame for which we were purchasing access for. The facility does pair with another pool in town and that pool offers swimming to offset their closure; however that pool and their schedule does not work for us. I approached management about this issue. Specifically, I was interested in being compensated with a two week pass for the lost services. Unfortunately, management was unforgiving and unapologetic in their response about their policy. They were unable to compensate us in any way for their extended pool closures.
The Truro Rec Centre Management team has a long way to go in terms of customer services. The manager on duty refused to "discuss" the issue any further with me. She refused my suggestion for compensation for the lost 2 weeks and smugly told me her manager was on vacation until January.
The Truro Rec Centre is a beautiful facility which could benefit from prioritizing their clientele and updating membership policies and management practices to align with the welcoming, respectful environment they are...
Read moreOctober 14th me and my partner took her nephews swimming. The 4 of us have gone multiple times with zero issues through out the entire summer. Today we got into the pool for less than 5 minutes and our nephews were told they had to wear a life jacket witch they did not want to, so they were told to go to the kiddy pool than, after that we decided to leave because this was the first time our nephews were told they had to wear a life jacket nor did the life guards on duty watch them swim for more than 2 minutes or perform an assignment. (Keep in mind we’ve gone over 15-16 times during the course of the summer)
We asked for a refund and were told we had to wait 2-3 weeks and to get in touch with a manager before the...
Read moreGreat hockey town! Lots of families attend regular games and now the World Jr A's challenge. Need to enforce housekeeping rules. Centre ped-walk should be kept clear during play. No up and down during play. Yes, there are signs and it is usually mentioned before game. But, regular reminders are needed. There are Security staff, but, never speak to anyone. Of course season ticket seats should be reminded, regular as well....watch for those stickers! World challenge cannot hear announcer. Regular announcer is fine, but, one calling the game is illegible. Game day handout is a week outdated. Don't rely on it for...
