Kinuseo Cafe & Dining Room — Restaurant in Tumbler Ridge

To be frank, this has some of the worst food I've ever experienced. Let me start off by saying I'm not picky whatsoever, and I VERY rarely complain at restaurants even when the food is sub-par. I've also given this place multiple chances to prove me wrong. I've worked in restaurants as both server and kitchen staff so I'm not ignorant on the industry.

The first time I ate here I had fish n chips, and onion rings. The batter on both was way overdone, while the fish inside was mushy and under-cooked. The oil temperature was most likely off, or just dirty oil.

The second time, someone that I was with ordered a bowl of soup and it smelled and tasted exactly like puke. I'm not exaggerating here, it was mortifying. I don't even understand how soup could get that rancid. I had an individual size pizza that was okay, but the topping's were sparse and over top of the cheese rather than underneath so it was just a messy pain to eat.

I've also ordered delivery a few times. Their burgers are not gross, but also nothing special. Just a cooked frozen burger patty on a bun. Pretty hard to mess up something so plain. The pizza is always alright as well.

They have very slow service overall, even when the place is dead. We once had to wait 30 minutes just to get ice cream cones when the restaurant was totally empty except for 3 tables. The server also didn't wash her hands before handling the cones even after using the screen and handling money. Besides that, the server was always very friendly.

I could never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Not only is the food awful, but between the raw fish and puke soup, I feel like it could be a serious health...

I was in the restaurant that evening, they were short staffed in the back, told every single customer about the wait and that young waitress offered to pay for the mistake pizza. Furthermore the "their not locals" statement had nothing to do with you or your table at all and the waitress who said it felt absolutley awful that you thought that. Our small town cafe works so very hard to make sure everyone is happy. I'm very disappointed to see such a one sided review when the manager herself was apologizing and the place was super busy. Currently working in the area and staying at the hotel next to this restaurant so I eat here alot. Service is often very slow. Food is consistently bad. This is one of the only places to eat in town!

Took my order back once and my friend who was sitting at one of the tables heard the girl that took my order flip out as I walked away because I had brought my order back after she was the one who got it wrong. Lol like do they not think that someone will see that stuff let alone one of my friends who would tell me. Totally unprofessional!
