During my recent visit to Backwoods Burger in Tyne Valley, PEI, Canada, the experience was generally pleasant. My dad and I relished the flavorful Backwoods Burger and a delightful poutine with beef, gravy, and peas. However, it was surprising that there was an extra charge for cheese curds in the poutine, even though it's traditionally included. Nevertheless, the additional cheese did enhance the overall enjoyment. The charming country atmosphere, adorned with antique decorations, created a delightful ambiance reminiscent of a bygone era. While the commercial fries were satisfactory, opting for hand-cut or homemade ones could have elevated the dining experience. The restaurant, being 3/4 full, led us to use a larger table, but the warm, rustic ambiance compensated for the seating situation. Parking on the street posed a slight challenge due to limited spots, yet the short walk from alternative parking was manageable. The food was served hot, and the overall satisfaction was met. The service was decent, In summary, Backwoods Burger provides a charming and nostalgic dining atmosphere in Tyne Valley, with the only drawback being the unexpected extra charge for cheese in the poutine and commercial french fries.

Their food is really good! Comfortable spot - small but doesn't feel crowded at all. The pictured bean burger was so good that my dining partner wouldn't give me a bite. Their fry-dips (had the mayo-garlic) and tartar-sauce...stay away from them if you don't like flavour. They're crazy-good! I found the fish & chips fish a little more battered than is my personal taste and if I go back (not if... When I go back) I'll ask for the fish a little less battered if that's possible, with the way they make an F & C order. It was not a notably large amount of batter - not more than a lot of places, just on the heavy side for my taste. I'd still order it again as I had it. The fish inside, though? Very fresh and perfectly cooked — It's the best the actual fish has been, in any fish & chips I remember ever having! They have a specialty Caesar drink they make - not my sorta drink but really tasty. From the reaction of my dining partner, whose drink it was, I would definitely recommend this drink to any Caesar enjoyer! She loved it!

One of the best meals we've had in a long time! Wow! The atmosphere is fantastic- so relaxed and not too overwhelming. Absolutely beautiful space! Our server was wonderful! Very kind and helpful. She also asked me if I wanted a half order or full order of the K.A. fries - which I didn't even know was an option - and I greatly appreciated! (I'm a slow eater with a smaller appetite than most- I usually ask, but have grown tired of asking as most places won't allow half orders so I definitely loved this!) The gravy was on point! I absolutely love and appreciate a good gravy and this one wasn't just good - it's great! The sauce on the K.A Fries is to die for 👌 Fries stayed perfectly crisp right until the last bite! My partner absolutely loved the Dam Burger, he's a very fussy guy when it comes to sharing his love for burgers - he said this one is definitely up there in his top favorites! We will absolutely be back and will tell everyone we know to go here like yesterday!! Top notch!!

Nice old building good atmosphere, food not soo much. They have a spicy chicken burger and though the chicken was moist the burger over all was not worth the 20 dollar price tag considering jalapeños, spicy sauce spicy cheese and spicy Doritos that were supposed to be on it where no where to be seen. Instead they put normal plain tortillas chips on it. The cheese as a half a slice with no flavour. Absolutely no spice to this burger which was very disappointing. Not only did they do this on one order but on two orders. The backwood burger was good though. Fish tacos the fish wasn’t fresh and there really was no flavour to them. Here is my biggest issue…I made them aware of issues with the burgers he said they were out of those items and he noticed that they didn’t have some of the items but he wasn’t in for a few days. He said he would discount the two burgers. So he discount two at 4.56 and 4.89. Then they have an automatic 18 percent tip that is added to the bill. So if you are going to demand 18 percent for a tip it better be amazing food which it wasn’t and the service should be excellent which it was decent but I wouldn’t of tip 18 percent. By this restaurant having an automatic tip maybe they feel they do not have to have a standard any longer, I’m unsure. I do know that I could get a better burger from crave burger or cheese curds amd have a gareentee that what is listed on the burgers would actually be available on...

Food was good! Decor was neat! Unfortunately our server was rude to say the least! My son was telling him his order , saying no cheese no bun as he has food allergies which wasn't an issue it was the way he was treated by the server! The server said to my son instead of telling me what you dont want why dont you tell me what you do want in a not so nice tone! my son was laying out exactly what he wanted. Once our food came he missed a side of bacon so I politely asked for a side of bacon and the server's remark was you said just ketchup! Regardless to who's mistake it was there was no need to be rude to us! The server was clearly overwhelmed which I get coming from the industry but if you can't keep your cool perhaps it's not the job for you!

There where a few large empty tables left in the restaurant and all other tables had their food but he continued to turn people away, (about 10 people) my heart sunk when he turned away 3 lines men who where out there restoring power leaving them to grab lunch at the the convenient store next door!

Customers can be very understanding when you explain to them you are short staffed and service may be slow but to turn away so many people when there where tables available! I...
